Detail from #mural by @theoxking for #perfectmatch It turns out this piece has local, literary and historical significance. It was inspired by a local historical character who was abandoned at the marriage altar. She spent the rest of her days in her wedding dress, waiting for the groom who would never come. It is believed that this was Charles Dickens inspiration for the character of Miss Haversham in David Copperfield. #streetart #sydneystreetart #sydney #davidcopperfield #misshaversham #charlesdickens (at IGA Newtown)
Disappointing
Time moves, we wait, and keep waiting for that special moment that doesn't want to just happen and leave us happy. Then while waiting you remember Miss haversham waiting for her moment. And we realize how true she were and how naive we were to think she was crazy, coz she wasn't. She was the most wise of all, she preferred to be locked in the happy moments waiting for that moment forever. Because despite the long time u keep waiting, the more important this moment is the more excited you are waiting for it. Excitement is happiness. Love is happiness. Great moments are just moments, temporary events that soon vanishes and just leave the memory. There is no difference then. We can just wait for the moment to happen and it doesn't have to really happen. The memory will keep surfing over and over our minds. We simply get disappointed when others dun react and because of their carelessness. As waiting it self gives us more joy than the event. Dreams are always better and suits our real characters more.
