I may have forgotten while writing my princess bride AU fanfiction
“Here I just never feel it, it was more when we were on our vacation.. I'll have them add the homepage and the Sims book page to my social media, and hopefully that will give us a bit of a boost.”
He just hoped that people were still interested in the pets when they came, not just to meet him. River looks at Rylan pressing his lips to a thin line at the sorry. He really wished Rylan would see himself the way River saw him. All his qualities and strengths, all the things he loved about him that he just didn’t seem to see himself. Rylan Looks at River, noticing the way he presses his lips together.
“What?”
As he is about to ask more, he notices his dad, who hands him the camera, before wishing them a good night, and then vanishes again.
“Sneaky reaper tactics.
He smiles and looks back at River.
“First you tell me what is on your mind, and then I have a suggestion.”
River cups his face.
“You don't have to be sorry. You haven't done anything wrong. Your full time job and occupation isn't a tool for me to use because it's convenient, it's your job and you have no obligation with it towards the shelter. I don't want you to be sorry because you're not used to being popular. I don't want you to apologize for being yourself. You're worth so much more than this.”
He smiles at Rylan and gives him a kiss.
“You're worth so much more than any of this.” “I…”
He stops himself from saying the rest, about to once again apologize for something, realizing he probably does that quite often, it's become a habit of sorts.
“I... ehm.. I mean I don't mind using my celebrity status for this, this place is like a second home to me after all. I spend more time here than I spend at my other job.”
He smiles, kissing River.
“I have an idea though.. how about we do pictures with the pets who we think are maybe least likely to be adopted, give them the spotlight in a way? I can have them link to the spotlight page Hayden is making, so they get the full attention.”

Tips on how to care for disabled birds
Look, I know that a lot of people have no idea how to care for blind birds, birds missing a leg or even both, or how to deal with deaf birds. So please keep in mind your birds behavior and their disability when training them. For blind birds: As a person who started off owning a couple of able-bodied birds when I was young, this is quite hard to teach commands to and how to physically show them what to do. To teach a blind bird how to step up on to your hand, it is crucial that they are comfortable with hearing specific movements and that they are okay with being touched. I went about this the hard way and taught my bird how to lift either leg up on cue and just made him feel comfortable with whatever material was under his feet. You do want to make them feel more of the stuff that you would wear on a daily basis. Now I say this enormous tip to you, wear gloves at all times. The birds do generally get very scared of being moved and are very prone to bite and bite hard. It will help you in the long run, so just do it. When moving with these birds you have to be extra calm and peaceful so that they do not freak out and try to fly away, they will get hurt if they fly so try to minimize sudden movements. Also be careful what you say around these birds, their hearing is slightly heightened and you could have said something about your cousin on the phone with a friend around them a couple of times and how you hate that cousin, then next time that cousin comes over you will hear a couple of swear words and have a very angry cousin. You want to try to keep moving things in the cage around to a minimum. I have marked where everything goes in my birds cage with twist ties like on a package of bread. This helps eliminate confusion and accidents of a bird going somewhere and realizing a little too late, there is nothing there. For birds missing a leg: These birds seem very like able bodied birds but because they have all of their weight shifted on to one leg, you have to provide more areas to let them sit. The easiest thing to do with these birds is have perches about as wide as their belly to their back so they can sit. You can still have normal perches, but at least provide one place where they can get off their foot. Also, try not to clip their feathers as instead of climbing they generally tend to fly. For deaf birds: These birds are quite sweet and can be very docile once taught how to be comfortable around seeing hands and being moved. With deaf birds you want to assign a certain movement to each command. So step up could be raising your hand open palm up to the sky, Somersault could be a spinning finger, so on and so forth. It's easier for them to assign a movement with an action then it is to just force your hand under them. If you have any other questions about care for disabled birds please come to my blog charming-raven and ask away. This post is to help some bird owners who have questions about disabled birds, and if you have questions on birds about nutrition or care for all types of birds please go to flock-talk .
Our old toys look really creepy now
Today in Principles of Ecology, my professor took the time to mention that researchers at Princeton had calculated the components of a human, down to the last ATOM!
NOOOOO! DON'T FIND SHIT LIKE THAT OUT! You know what happens when you give out that kind of information?! PEOPLE WIND UP IN THE BASEMENT, MISSING A LEG AND THEIR BROTHER'S NOWHERE IN SIGHT!
