A note from the blogger...
As I’m sure you’ve noticed, I recently moved into a new house. I finally unpacked the last box of books and I realized something. I have almost 1800 books and it has taken me several days to get them on the shelves. I also realized...AT LEAST ONE BOX IS MISSING. I don’t remember the exact number of boxes I had, but I’m sure one is missing.
No I know you may be thinking, “Now Jeni, maybe it just looks different because you got a new shelf, you’re in a new place, things are in different orders, that’s a lot of books, surely it’s in front of you and you just don’t see it...etc etc”
NAH PEOPLE, I’m 100% sure. I’m currently sitting next to books 2 and 3 in a trilogy I’m sure I owned in completion. I DON’T HAVE A SINGLE HARRY POTTER BOOK ON MY SHELVES! A box is gone! and I’m only severely freaking the fuck out over it!!!
I just checked my CaptivePrince ebooks
One book is missing 🤬🤬🤬
I bought them on kindle and through AppleBook
I’m pretty sure I paid for 3 books…
Need to check on iPad library

This is another Dave Stone novel I have had to DNF yet again.
This man needs to stay away from writing Bernice Summerfield and Roz Forrester.

A few weeks ago, I checked the online catalogue for this library, and found a book on my reading list, so I placed a hold on the novel. Although the book was supposed to be on the shelf, the librarians never set it aside for me, so I checked the shelves myself and didn’t find it. I asked about the book. They looked it up and discovered that although they were supposed to have two copies, they had…

Being able to finally unpack all my books and organize them has allowed me to figure out which books I am missing. New releases that I haven’t picked up yet or damaged copies I got second-hand, and want to replace. Just some of the books I know I am missing are:
1 Christine Warren book. But it’s out of print and I will have to hunt for it on out of print websites, try to find a like new copy. I have the other 14 books in The Others series.
The last 2 Patricia Briggs’ Mercedes Thompson books to be released. I think I’ll have to wait for the last one to be released in paperback first though.
6 Tamora Pierce books. I need the Circle Opens series, and 2 other books for my shelf.
My copies of the first 4 Jean M Auel books are very old and have damage. I dont have a copy of books 5 and 6. So I need all 6 books of the Earth’s Children series.
Rick Riordan, I need the Trials of Apollo series and 4 of the companion books.
I need quite a few Kelley Armstrong books. The 2 new Otherworld books about Kate and Logan, definitely need those. Plus some of the novella collections, missing those. And I have several of my books signed by Kelley Armstrong, but the later books all came out in trade paperback not mass market paperback so they don’t match and it messes up my shelf. And that bothers me so much. Which means half the series needs to be bought again.
I went through a thing with Indigo where of 4 books they sent me, from a single order, from one series, they sent 2 in the old style and 2 in the new. That bugged me so much I returned the old style just to reorder them with matching covers.
I was also able to see that my brother is missing a couple Chuck Palahuink books. Something to keep in mind for his birthday.
I also decided to give away a box of rarely or never read books that I don’t or never wanted. Might havee to just box them back up and wait until this is all over so I can donate them to Paws and Claws, the SPCA thrift store.
And I also decided to part with books from my childhood that had sentimental value. But those are being past on to my cousin’s little one that I adore and that I always buy books for. I already gave her a couple, including a book called Thundercake, which if your kid is scared of thunderstorms, read this book and try the recipe.
