Enough about favorite books. What’s a book you read and absolutely hated? The book you’ve got a bone to pick with.
It doesn't even look like an augmented human
I tried so hard to give the show a chance. Murderbot has been my whole personality since All Systems Red, so I knew I would have to see the books and show as two separate things but.. eugh °~°

#also - what good a book is going to do when you’re hungry and homeless:#let you go to another world for just a little while#give you hope#teach you new ways to cope#give you new perspectives#and that’s just fiction#non-fiction gives you resource beyond resource#which you can’t understand properly if you can’t read
There is a reason so many of us with traumatic childhoods are bookworms. Life was unbearable. Books allowed us leave our lives in a way that was safe.
I’m not saying everyone has to have the same coping mechanisms as I do. But acting like those coping mechanisms don’t matter, or haven’t saved lives? That’s not a useful position.
When i was hungry and homeless, I went to the gd library. It was warm (or cool) when I needed it, sometimes had snacks, and had a computer for me to fill out job applications online (which I absolutely needed literacy to complete).

Bad news guys,
I went to Book Barn today for my used books fix and I fear we lost a baddie...
I've been reading Bloom by Delilah S. Dawson and it's giving me hella parallels of me and my toxic relationships with Scorpio women. Also I'm 99% sure I knew the twist from 14 pages in. I will be VERY surprised if I'm wrong.
I've decided Ro is a leo and Ash is a scorpio

The problem with commercial F/M romance is that it's written by the most heterosexual women alive and reading it you feel yourself slowly suffocating from the Gender of it all like a fish in a eutrophying lake. And what we actually need as a culture is F/M written by insane bisexuals violently allergic to heteronormativity
