I had a nice small dinner with mom, little sister, my nephew, and the boyfriend tonight. This was fine seeing how we never really celebrated Christmas growing up anyway and we focused more on dinner instead of presents. I had a breakdown on the car ride back to Atlanta, though. I really missed Daddy tonight. I shed a few tears in the passenger seat while Steven comforted me the best he could from the driver seat. And all of the reminiscing stories were bittersweet. I’d tell him of the great memories and then silently cry in between each one of them. I have no idea why Christmas affected me more this year than Thanksgiving did seeing how my family/dad always made a bigger deal out of Thanksgiving. There was something missing, though, and it was him. Thinking so much about you tonight, pops.
