My brother rarely said the words “I love you”. He showed he loved me when he would ask if I wanted anything to eat. He showed he loved me by always being the first to wish me a happy birthday. He showed he loved me when he would drop whatever he was doing when my sisters and I needed him. He showed he loved me whenever I was in the wrong and he’d approach me about it in a calm and kind way. He showed he loved me by marching through the snow on my birthday to buy me a necklace from the dollar store when we were children. He showed he loved me the last time I saw him when he chose to sit with me at 1am eating- what I didn’t know would be our last meal together. My brother rarely said the words “I love you”, but he didn’t need to. Because he showed he loved me in everything he did.

May Allah (swt) grant him the highest of Jannah.
