#missing memories

Not sure how many people are gonna agree with me on this but I strongly believe Jason never got all of his memories back.

We hardly ever get any mentions of his past even in his POVs when he’s not talking to anyone. I mean nothing reminded him of his past at CJ? Absolutely nothing?

Nothing the others said that might remind him of his cohort? Nothing he ate reminded him of cafes that are around New Rome? Nothing Piper might have done that reminded him of Reyna before Charleston?? Are you serious??

I think Rick did this because he couldn’t bother giving Camp Jupiter ‘a personality’. I also think by this point we can fully accept that Rick favours some of his characters (Percy) over others and I genuinely think this is the same between the two camps.

It’s also widely acknowledged that he couldn’t bother expanding on Jason’s background. The boy was raised by wolves, do you know how fucking cool it would’ve been if he had some subconscious wolfy habits?

All we get is the memory of Thalia and I actually believe Juno planted that memory. I don’t think Jason was old enough to remember Thalia until that moment, he was too young when he was abandoned.

So yeah, I don’t think Jason got all of his memories back, at least not the substantial ones at CJ.

Help me remember a thing from my childhood!

I'm tired and sad and feeling nostalgic and there's something I need help with. I have been trying to figure this out for absolute ages but I've had no luck.

When I was maybe eight (so, around 1988) I was taken to a... A museum, I guess? An interactive indoor space with tons of displays, most of which appeared to be made of glossy painted paper mache. This would have been in either new jersey or Pennsylvania.

The thing that made it interesting was that the displays all did things - played sounds, spun around, opened and closed hatches, etc - and the way you made them do that was by finding hidden little holes and pressing a magnet ring into the holes to trigger the action. They gave you the ring when you went in. It looked something like this:

Cheap red plastic, little magnet nub. The only other specifics I remember was that one of the displays was a big suspended cocoon that you could sit inside of and it would spin you around.

I've searched the Internet for any trace of the place, for anyone else who remembered it or for any photos, and I've found nothing. So I'm turning to you, tumblr, because you never fail to surprise me.

Day 21: Mount

In the memories long lost to Viviane names whisper to her from time to time. One name "Aemi" comes with an overwhelming sadness she does not understand and a desire to fly.

there were many places within Arda where Elves could be found; a run down tavern in the toughest part of Rhovanion wasn't it. yet that was exactly where the missing youngest son of Elrond's could be found on a regular basis.

working part time as a bar tender and a bouncer, when things got too rowdy, very few of the folk had any issues with him. his elvish features remained hidden by glamour and cloak, so only those who could see through it would know the difference.

'Rowan', or Ro as the men called him, was a mystery but he didn't remember his past. no one cared and no one asked. however there was a silent agreement to keep his presence hidden from the knowledge of the Elves.

something that could be hard, given the proximity of the main route between Imladris and Lothlorien. they managed it though, until the day when he was needed to run the bar on his own.
