Interceptions and Duplicated Signs Part 1

I am going to start covering interceptions and duplicated signs. This is an area in astrology that is hard to grasp and I do suggest that only those with a good understanding of the Houses read further. If this still confuses you then I am sorry lol, this is quite a subject to explain.

An intercepted Sign/House is when a sign is completely contained within a house and does not appear on either cusp. Here are some examples below. The intercepted sign is the sign that does not appear at the beginning of any house. Technically look for 3 signs in a House. The one fully enclosed is intercepted.

With intercepted signs there is always a connection with their polar opposite. If Taurus is intercepted so is Scorpio, if Sagittarius is intercepted so is Gemini, etc. This is due to the symmetry of the zodiac. Some astrologers claim this doubles up the power of the House overall. The issue with that claim is the intercepted sign isn’t technically the one influencing the House overall. It does increase the energy of the polar opposites dynamic in the chart. Intercepted Houses/Signs presents a need to balance somewhere in life, lessons revolving around the themes of the Houses and Signs, and the Houses/Signs influence will play off each other. If you look at the chart as a whole with interceptions, you miss out on signs in the Houses, which indicates an imbalance in the chart. Any planets that fall within an intercepted sign are known as intercepted, "blocked or trapped" planets. This makes the planet's energy in that Sign and House stronger.  The further away from the Equator you were born, the greater your chances are of having intercepted and duplicated signs in your chart. 

When it comes to the actual duplicated sign in a interception/duplication, this increases that sign's influence, because it will be acting in two houses. Depending on how some astrologers calculate a "dominant sign" this can be useful. (Personally I am not a fan of dominant signs)

Well, it appears as though some negative nancy has decided to hijack one of my ice cream sandwiches, so it looks like the fun is ruined for now. I put up flyers around town in hopes that some Good Samaritan will return the ice cream sandwich to its original owner. If you see this flyer around town, use the tag on it. If you found a sammie, and decided to eat it, I can't fault you.
