Title: Missing Dew Genre: young adult, historical fiction, mystery, & romance  Status: FIRST DRAFT Synopsis:

The bride-to-be was kidnapped and the princess was the last person with her. With the king’s permission, she joins the royal guard to find her brother, the prince’s future wife. The group heads into town with high hopes and encounters another case, coincidentally aligning with their objective. With everyone’s own stories surfacing and overlapping, the group pulls apart, unearthing new leads and tied ends. In a web, too tight-knitted, the group uncovers something they didn’t know was missing. 

Characters:

Princess Jiu Baek -  wearing a crown that doesn’t quite fit on her head

Hwan Tae -  tight-roping the lines between personal and occupational

Seojoon Doh -  going where the wind takes him and she’s persuasive

Chaewon Wang - taking a spot he knows is reserved for someone else

T A G: Find the Words

Thank you @hyba for tagging me! You’re awesome and I really enjoy these games! These are the words (and similar ones): stride, intruder kidnapper, struggle, vague blurry, hanging and the following excerpts are from Missing Dew:

“My family?” Princess Jiu’s head bobs. She takes her steps small and he sticks to her slow stride. Even though his legs were always longer than hers. He is a foot or two taller than her. “They are family. That’s about it.”

“I know what the kidnapper looks like now. Thanks to the princess who saw him.” Hwan looks over his shoulder at Princess Jiu who feels out of place. The others look uncomfortable with the royal. They look strung with a tight rope at the tops of their head and possibly holding their breath.

His back breaks the water’s surface. His mouth fills with water as Myeongsuk screams for help and struggles, kicking his legs aimlessly, feeling useless with his flaring arms. His chest burns and his eyes blur with water. 

He locked his thoughts behind the bars of his mind. In his own mind palace, he screamed with frustration. His sight blurry. His feet unable to walk away. Tell her no. Go back inside and tell me you can’t do it.

She cried with so much shame the night before. She didn’t look in the mirror when she brushed her hair back and forgot about pinning it back. She wore a dress, hanging in her closet, not caring if it was okay to wear as a princess. She was a fool. Fool in love.
