Today, we were all notified about the human remains that were found in the same vicinity of possessions that belonged to Brian Laundrie. Brian Laundrie is the sole person of interest in the murder of his fiancee, Gabby Petito. It seems like this case has been given an abundance of coverage and attention in the media as of lately. It made me stop to wonder, why is it that when a missing Indigenous woman that lives a high-risk lifestyle gets almost minimal if NO coverage at all when it comes to awareness? I am an Indigenous woman, and I have to say that for a large part of my life I didn't realize what a blessing it was to be part of this culture. What beautiful people this culture is full of. I feel as if it is almost a crime in itself that we do not give the same amount of attention to the women of color, or high-risk lifestyles, or other checked boxes that we so often overlook. I feel as if it is my job to make my own daughter aware of what it means for ALL women to matter, no matter where they come from or what their life decisions are.

I was shocked when we raised $1500 for the Great Falls YWCA in less than 2 hours. With the support of the Fiber Arts community this year we have raised money for organizations supporting native women, created a $5,000 college scholarship, worked on trafficking prevention measures, and helped raise awareness. Fast foward 1 year and we are getting phone calls to help organize raising funds for an immediate and active search for a missing girl here in Montana. This speaks volumes for the need we have on the Crow Agency, Montana, and across the United States and Canada. Thank you to everyone here listening, learning, reading, donating, and supporting.
