What is your favourite thing about missing links?

Is it bad if I say that my favourite thing right now is that it is almost over?!

It's a hard question - to say what you like about your own writing. Or at least, something that I find hard. I am glad that, for the most part, I've been able to get across the different POVs of all the characters in a way that has resonated with some of the readers out there. It has been wonderful to see the engagement with the story through the comments which you don't always get. I'm so lucky that people have taken the time to comment. I have to be honest, I never imagined that there would be controversy and conflict in the comments section about my scribblings so that has been weird...!

So I’ve seen a few discussions in your comment section about AI and the ethicality of using Friday in a home. It’s made me curious. What was your opinion on Friday?

It is an interesting debate. FRIDAY is this amazing, incredibly powerful tool that has the potential to make life so much easier and to help 'progress' and therefore ultimately do good in the world. But, I think what we have here is a classic example of how people use technology in a way that subverts it from its original aims. Tony, however, might argue that he is still using it for one of its original purposes - keeping people safe. However, it is easy to see how the way he is using it is a breach of privacy. I think everyone living in the Tower has, by agreeing to live there, accepted a certain degree of surveillance because they also get to benefit from FRIDAY. Peter, however, as a minor who has no say if he stays there, does not have that privilege - which is where it feels unfair that he is subjected to that - especially now with the increased bedroom surveillance.

A lot of the people in the comments are much more eloquent about the debate than I however so....!

What are your (and anyone not anon's) thoughts?

I think it's really important for everyone to watch the show Missing Links with Gregg Braden. It suggests an interesting theory about the earth with really great statistical evidence.

It heavily relates to the earth, people as a collective and the effects we have on the world.

You can find the series on the Gaia streaming platform. You can get a free trial and i highly recommend for everyone interested to give it a go.

Maybe knowing more about this can help us work our prayers and intentions, and together we can try to ease the tension and conflict we are seeing everyday.
