It rarely indicates one way or the other whether the origin of the script is/was actually Italy. As a consequence there are numerous historical scripts labeled as 'Italian' that seem to have little visual relationship to each other. The grain on these two holders is so pretty I thought I'd try a video for once 😊 The dark brown one is some lovely French walnut. The foot of the two part one is undyed buckeye burl, and the tail is white ash that had some really nice luster.
