“Host? Who the heck are you, then? I got your name from that guy. But…huh?”
"A better question would be, then, what the hell am I. Well, I'm a Mist.
"...I'm going to have to explain what that is, too, aren't I?"

“Host? Who the heck are you, then? I got your name from that guy. But…huh?”
"A better question would be, then, what the hell am I. Well, I'm a Mist.
"...I'm going to have to explain what that is, too, aren't I?"
"You don't have to be afraid," the figure repeated. "Of changing. Of being unsure."
Souls scoffed. "I'm not scared."
"Lying isn't going to make things better."
"F/// what you're saying! I'm not lying!"
By now, MistBrace was back, and they took a step back, eyes wide. Uh... They begged to differ, but it was best to not incur Souls' wrath if they can. They whisper over at the figure, and the figure nods.
"Fine," the figure said calmly. "Then we'll leave." In a moment, the figure and MistBrace were gone.
Souls scoffed, then pulled out a phone and checked Asriel's blog. "Knew it." They shoved the phone in a pocket and disappeared.
It was time. They knew it. They look down at their hand, the side with the bracelet, and noticed that mist lifted up. They gave a weak chuckle and closed their eyes.
Maybe it was cause of Megalo's interference, letting them have a body of their own, that they didn't feel much but, strangely, relief. If they were dying and never coming back, perhaps they would've shown fear and how much they didn't want to die.
But for now... They were more or less at peace with this fact. They laid down so Souls didn't hurt themselves, and watched as the mist lifted and raised into the sky, before closing their eyes and...
And disappearing, for now, into their bracelet. Leaving a questionably unconscious Souls, in their human form, laying on the ground.
-You should express your gratitude to Asriel instead. He was the one to give the idea of making deals to me. * Megalo teleports elsewhere. (They refer to Asriel's suggestion to pay for stuff instead of stealing.)
( I figured. )
“If I knew where he was… I’ll try to keep that in mind.” They don’t seem to notice that Megalo disappeared. Or care to.
* Megalo laughs. -Maybe everyone assumes this because it would have made sense. When one being is possessing another, they are normally not as limited as you are. * They think for a moment. -Well, I have seen plenty of beings going through the whole "I don't want to die yet" thing, and I have not seen anything like you... So I guess I will still do my part of the deal, if only for my own amusement. * Megalo creates a body with their Anon magic, summons the soul and puts it into it. -Here it is.
I’m glad I could amuse you… The Mist thought sarcastically. “Thanks.”
* Megalo smirks. -Hmph... So, you will only disappear when the time is up, regardless of the deal... You really are too honest for your own good, MistBrace. You could have tricked me, you know. It was the first time I actually tried making a deal instead of taking what I want by force, so it wouldn't be that difficult, I imagine. Instead you literally proved to me that I have no interest in the deal whatsoever. "Well done".(Despite everything, Mega is still Mega.)
“You’re right. I could’ve. And probably should’ve. After all, that means I won’t die, provided…
"Even so, there’s nothing wrong with being honest. And you’re not the first person to try to remove me from them, and if I wasn’t going to die soon, I doubt you would’ve been the last.
"At this point: yeah, I’m pretty much done with everyone assuming I can just leave whenever I want or needed. If it was up to me, I either would’ve stayed forever, or tried to find a way to live and let Souls go.”
* Megalo hesitated. -Just to make it clear... You refuse to leave Souls alone now, even though I offered you a permanent "host", which will not ever "take the control" and "kill" you due to the nature of the spell and will potentially last as long as y o u want if you keep the soul inside? You are getting somewhat greedy here, are you not?
The Mist was careful to not scratch their face in their facepalm. What part of ‘I can’t leave until my time is up’ was so hard to understand?
Ok. Let’s try a different approach. “I’m not trying to refuse. I’m literally bound to them until my time is up.” To show what they meant, they tried to dismiss themselves. A little of the area around their arm disappeared, hovering a bit in mist, but they seemed to be straining to even dispel that little bit.
They let out a breath and get on their arms and knees, looking winded. Whatever they had managed to start dismissing returned. They panted a bit, trying to regain their composer.
“Fun fact: if anything good from that little fiasco with their alternate, it managed to speed up my expiration date.” They close their eyes with a sigh, still panting. Seems the attempt really winded them.
I floated in a boiling fog of brimstone smoke, as I waited for the pathetic request. What would we be doing today? Perhaps she’d ask me to conjure an illusion, or nick something from one of her rivals? Those were usual ones. To pass the time, I made green snakes writhe at the edge of my circle, as if they were seeking a way out, to nab them. But it was a useless gesture, I’d already checked, and the circle was drawn fairly well, unfortunately. No spelling mistakes anywhere.
MistBrace watches, wondering what to request.
