Summary:

When Arthur inherits the old family house, he gets more than he bargained for. Eames shows up to solicit Arthur’s help on a new, mysterious job, and everything gets all the more complicated. Or simpler. Arthur can’t tell, anymore.

Notes:

one-word prompt: attic I was SO excited to get to create for Ash (@mister-eames), who is such an enthusiastic cheerleader in the fandom, and a phenomenal author, herself! This is uhhhh not the fic I had thought would come out of this prompt haha. The writing process was fun and surprising as the story decided for itself what it was going to be, so I hope you enjoy the reading process, too <3 CW for canon-typical violence and discussion of tense family-of-origin relationships.

🦅 Do you outline fics or fly by the seat of your pants?

I'm notoriously bad about flying by the seat of my pants which is NOT a good idea considering I also have a tendency to write 30+k fics, so I'm trying to get better about at least having a vague outline lol 😅 I've at least gotten into the habit of jotting down a short note about a scene (POV, major plot points) when I think of it, which not only keeps me from forgetting things but also helps give me a broader sense of the flow and organization of the story and where it still needs a bit of planning. It's not QUITE outlining, but it's at least more helpful than nothing 😅

Fic writer ask game

OMG I would give anything to see Mad Max Fury Road in the cinema, I only ever saw it after the theatrical release. Enjoy, I hope you have the best time!

I was fortunate to see it during its original run, and it is DEFINITELY a full cinematic experience. If you ever get the chance I highly recommend it!! ^^

Oh that is TOUGH. I'm gonna list a couple because I'm indecisive lol

“I think I’ve seen you look less uncomfortable in front of a dismembered body.” Martinez glanced over at Gordon. “We work in Gotham, sir. I’m used to dismembered bodies.” He looked back out over the crowd over various politicians, socialites, and general Gotham elite. “This I’m…less used to.”

"I'm going to fix you up something to eat, which," he held a finger up, "you will eat. I'm not even going to entertain any arguments otherwise. And then you're going to get some more rest because, quite frankly sir, you still look like shit. If you don't mind me saying so."

“You think they’re connected?” “By Penguin, at least. I don’t know about anything beyond that yet.” “That would just be the cherry on top of this shitshow, wouldn’t it?” Martinez sighed. “Or I don’t know, maybe it’d actually be worse if they weren’t connected. Just two unrelated shitshows connected only by Gotham’s resident flightless pain in the ass.”

Hi there bestie! :)

Hmmm… for me, most of my dislike is about texture. So I’m going to go with eggplant [aubergine] (too fleshy), celery (too stringy), and also most mushrooms (I am afraid of them, in some deep lizard part of my brain).

But on the flip side, I just discovered relatively recently that roasted brussel sprouts are actually super delicious!

4. Fave Song: Oof. This is hard. I feel like in different time periods of my life, I sometimes have had definitive answers for this. But I don't know that I have a favorite right now. But I don't want to skip out on answering, so here's one that is near and dear to my heart and has been for a long time (*though I'm not sure it's definitively my favorite): Both Sides Now by Joni Mitchell.

6. Fave Trope: ALL OF THEM!!!!! Though I do also have a particular fondness for Fake Relationship. (Your Within is fantastic!) (Everyone else, go read this!) And also the Domestic Pining/So Close Yet So Far/ Accidental-Housemates-to-Lovers thing we were talking about. :)
