I'm basic, sorry, I really like Jason's apology scene lol. It has a lot of character and explains their dynamic really well. I wish they talked more in that scene 🥳🥳 it's honestly the first scene that came to mind rn.. it's really sweet

I'm still experimenting with different ethnic features (or a more "stereotypical" Nias face), but ngl I'm already attached to this current version since I based him on my own family LOL (I think I mentioned it here)

In my headcanon, Beryl's family is indigenous to Nias Island, but she was born in Jakarta before going to the US. She dropped her marga/surname while building fame there, so Jason & Thalia never really learned about it. The rest of the story goes on like canon

(Referencing your shelper post) I don't know if it's just me being gay or what, but as someone who wasn't really into Jason and Piper's relationship, taking the shit she did in the books and applying it on shelper is so much more entertaining to me??? Some people forget that Piper was very forward with her attraction. Didn't she mention that she was actively pursuing Jason in her fake memories or something? And the way she saw him as her "hopefully future boyfriend" even when he technically didn't know her. THAT GIRL IS CRAZY. We need this energy for Shel, she's definitely crazy about her. I need my girls to kissss!

that's what i've been sayingg. considering it's her first sapphic relationship, i think she was a little out of her depth and wouldn't be as forward (at least... in my experience...), but once she's locked in, it's all over for everyone else!!! i like the idea that shel wasn't oblivious to her advances at all, actually. shel actively pursues her too ughh they're obsessed with each other in a very sweet way and it's canon

ofc piper is gonna grow up and be more mature about it, but piper being delulu is so adorable, i love it </33333. "yeah that's my future girlfriend alright, she doesnt know it yet though"

thoughts on valgrace?

First fandom ask, kinda nervous. I'm sorry if I say something wrong 😭

I'm unfortunately a sucker for "the other one is dead" trope, so it became a fast favorite. It's one of those ships that I know won't be canon, but could be if someone's crazy enough to connect and highlight the existing themes that Riordan already made (delulu talk). Plus, I just think it's neat in general. Best friends to lovers is super cute, especially if they have such high respect for each other. Its just really cute 🥺

Oh, also because some of the lines reek of comphet haha, so it's fun to play around with that. That's how I interpreted it. Sure, it's just a few paragraphs, but I do relate to it as someone who experienced it. Riordan missed a chance to use The Lost Trio as some kind of allegory for heteronormativity, it's all there, I swear I'm not crazy

I do think if they do end up together, it'll be far in the future. I'm a firm believer of friends first, romance second (so you can imagine how frustrated I am reading Heroes of Olympus) (and no one can take demiromantic Jason out of my grip). And those two need friends more than ever. (I do like to imagine an unrequited/denial crush though, mostly from Leo's side. It's so fun, he's so silly)

However, I still enjoy drawing them being established/having mutual crushes throughout HoO 😁 they're awesome

hii I'm a big fan of your art and vlagrace content but I was just wondering why you traced over the official jason grace art and changed his race lol. I've seen this girl on pinterest tracing over leahbeth fanart and making her white, to which she received tons of hate and everyone said was morally wrong but I don't see why this is different..? I'm not saying you should get hate or anything I was just wondering cause I know your art is super good and like why you would do that yk?

For me to answer this I need you to know why changing leahbeth into a white girl is problematic in the first place. I wasn't in the fandom when leahbeth was announced, but even I saw how racist people were to her.

(I clicked post before finishing lol) turning Leahbeth fan art and making her white is so aggressive, you know? you gotta ask yourself, why would people do that to a girl who's already been a target of racists? why is more white annabeth needed so badly that people resort to editing leahbeth when there are already tons of fanarts of her throughout the years? Why edit Leahbeth's artworks specifically when there are still artists/editors who use her book appearance?

for indo jason himself, idk, it's just fun for me. everyone knows how bad asian rep in pjo hoo. making him asian doesn't really take anything away from him. and it's nice seeing myself represented in my fav character and making him do indo-kids stuff, seeing him and thalia and how cultural sibling roles affect them, etc etc. comparing this situation to leahbeth is very disproportionate, imo. leahbeth is a real person, book jason is not

edit: to why i edited the official art specifically, i learned that it's a common thing in the fandoms and i want in !😉
