idk if this has been said before, but i feel like misty and laura lee would be such a great pair (platonic or romantic), like i have a vision lol:
pre-crash, they are both teased by the other girls for what they are passionate about ("oh my god" at party/ quoting plato to bullies) and end up on the outskirts of the group. there isn't really anyone they are each shown to be close to, so would likely gravitate towards each other
laura lee is a very kind person and i can imagine her defending misty from her bullies and reaching out to her, misty would be overjoyed at the first sign of attention
the crossover of their christian and crazy bird lady hobbies/interests (the venn diagram is a circle) would be so great 🔥🔥, as well as each of their fashion senses
they can also be seen as too intense by others, so would understand each other and provide a safe space
i can also imagine misty going to church just because she would be able to hang out with a friend
in the wilderness, they both find purpose in having a specific skill that can aid the group (providing faith and knowledge of planes/ medical training). they are both focused and i think they would work well together in crises
there would be an interesting point of tension between laura lee's very strong and rigid moral code versus misty's apparent lack of one
