I just wanted to let you know: I love your art. Back when I was drawing Homestuck, it always brightened my day to see a Like from you. Thank you for being an inspiration.
this ask has been sitting in my inbox for a while, not because i didn't want to reply to it but because every time i saw it, it made me feel this overwhelming sense of happiness and gratitude. Often I want to keep messages like these to myself, to look at when I needed it the most, though i realise that's a selfish thing to do.
Lately I've been feeling like my existence is meaningless, nothing I do matters, that i make no lasting impact, and i'm so easily forgettable that if i disappeared off the face of the earth no one would notice or care. These negative feelings have affected my desire to create art, work on my projects, and have brought me this close to giving up altogether.
Then i get messages like the one above.
I know it's silly, but i rely on reassurance to push me forward, because that ever lingering feeling of crippling ineptitude always manages to snake its way into my mind. It's not easy dealing with these emotions, and I feel ashamed to admit that i lose sight of what my work means to me, only to be reminded by incredibly kind messages like this one.
I get very few personal messages like these, that remind me i've been an inspiration, or have helped in one way or another. Though they are few and far between, when i do get them, i cherish every single one. They help me so much more than i can put into words. To know that i mean something to at least one person is...well it's an amazing, uplifting feeling, to say the least.
that being said, it's nice to hear from you again, and you might not have known, but your art was an inspiration to me as well. It was great seeing your art on my dash, and i even have some saved to my PC haha.
So, thank YOU, mitbix, for being my inspiration too, as well as for sending me this wonderful message. ^ ^
p.s. i hope you're well, and i'm sorry for taking so long to reply to you.
