My Real Genius x Mission Impossible fic is coming along nicely and it's a much needed change from writing Love changes everything (because as much as I love that fic the chapter I'm at is very dark).

I've drafted quite a lot so far and written a bit of dialogue. The beginning and ending are set more or less and the middle is getting there too, I think.

In terms of characters, there will be Chris and Ethan of course. On the M:I side we'll have Benji and Luther. And on the RG side we'll have Mitch and Jordan and probably Kent (because even though this is nothing but fun and fluff, I need a villain).

Also, thanks a lot for all your support so far!! I didn't think so many people would be interested 🫶🏼

Top Gun and Real Genius crossover where Ice and Chris are related somehow (I SWEAR I've seen something like that somewhere before)

Ice leaves Mav alone with Chris, Mitch, Jordan, and Ick and he comes back and somehow they've stolen an F-14 and it's in Sliders room. Just like how they got Kent's car in his room in Real Genius

How did they do this? I dunno. Ice doesn't either and neither does Mav, despite the fact that he was involved in it

Curious, mice and rats are some of the cleverest rodent out there and that extends to wanting to learn more. Mice can solve mazes and rats can learn tricks

Social, rats and mice are very social animals and its considered good form for new owners to start with groups of three.

Nervous, rodents are prey animals and, despite their aforementioned curiosity, these critters are shy around strange things and can be anxious.

Dexterous, look at their little hands!

Kind, rats have been known to go out of their way to look after completely strange rats! There was one experiment where rats had a choice between a treat and to release an unfamiliar rat from an uncomfortable cage, the vast majority(if not all, I can;t remember the paper anymore) of rats released there fellow instead of getting the treat

Bonus: Kent calls Mitch 'Mighty Mouse' at one point of the movie and I think it'd be funny.

Clever, small corvid who can solve complex problems and a broad vocabulary of body language.

Playful and highly social, often forming strong pair bonds or traveling in large flocks

Kind, They'll groom flockmates who've just been in a fight, even if they themselves weren't in the fight themselves, and frequently share food with flockmates. Jackdaws even have a special way to ask their friends for 'skritchs, pls' called allopreening

Will Flock with other Corvids, including magpies! Jackdaws will roost with a mix of their own kind and other corvids, even working together to drive off predators or intruders.

Just as much of a shit as a Magpie, just better at hiding it. They aren't as flashy as magpies, but they also love the shinies(tm) and will steal and share the treasures. That feels very Mitch!coded to me.

Smart, foxes have the reputation for cleverness for a reason. Foxes are capable of planning ahead and critical thinking, and have been known to cache food when there's a surplus.

Loyal, foxes are monogamous and share the burdens of kit-rearing. Foxes also show the same social intelligence as elephants and gorillas.

Shy, despite being predators themselves, grey foxes are preyed upon by several other species, including farmers defending their chickens. This makes grey foxes wary and prone to hide.

Adaptable, grey foxes can live anywhere from forests to desert mesas, and have actually evolved to hunt and hide from predators in the trees.

Mischievous, whether the reputation is warranted or not, foxes are archetypal tricksters and I firmly believe that post-canon!Mitch is chaos gremlin, he's just better at hiding that than Chris.

Social, these otters live in rafts of up to 11 individuals. Typically, these romps are made of a mated pair and 2 or 3 generations of their cubs.

Clever, otters are able to work together to hunt by herding fish into shallow water, and are even able to create and use tools

Playful, they're often seen sliding down mudbanks, playing chase, and wrestling with each other.

Trainable, they're actually trained by fisherman to help locate and herd fish. This is more applicable to early-in-the-canon!Mitch, when he'd do anything to please Hathaway.

Co-exist with other otters, smooth-coated otters can share habitats with other species of otter, each species end up taking over their own ecological niche and not really bothering each other for territory or food

Social, flying fox bats live and roost in massive groups of several hundred.

Smart, same level of intelligence as domestic dogs! They retain mental maps of seasonal resources, allowing efficient foraging even in large territories.

Collaborate, flying fox bats have group nurseries called creches. Otherwise, mothers carry their babies on their chest for the rest of the time.

Easily stressed, in this case it flying foxes being susceptible to heat stress, which they handle by skimming their belly into water. For Mitch, he gets stressed in a new environments

The only bats that hunt during the day, flying foxes are one of the few bats who aren't able to echo locate, and have to rely on a combination of smell and sight.

Listen, this one's a stretch, but this is also one of Lazlo's options and I can also see it working for Mitch. Especially the shy nature and importance of non-verbal communication.
