Commencement week is here at MIT! This Thursday, June first, Mark Rober, a NASA engineer-turned-internet celebrity whose hugely popular videos celebrate problem-solving, determination, and having fun while learning, will deliver the address at the OneMIT Commencement Ceremony. Other than being a ex-NASA rocket scientist, you might know him from viral Youtube videos like “Egg Drop From Space” and “Can You Swim in Jell-O?,” his company CrunchLabs, or his Team Trees and Team Seas collaborative fundraiser.

Whatever road you choose to travel, I want you to reject the idea that what you see in front of you is the best that we human beings can do. I want you to see the status quo as nothing more than the beta release — a place to start, because you know we can do better.
