Regarding my previous post... May Ikemoto not forget (or at least revisit the anime) the theme that created the bond between 🐍🦋: appearance shouldn't be so important, but rather the true essence.
many debate how difficult it is to ship Chocho with someone because she has crushes on several boys. Okay. But it's simply because of their APPEARANCE (she was a child, normal).
Is so poetic to me that Chocho only developed feelings for Mitsuki after his ACTIONS towards her. Not primarily because of appearance, which is different with the other boys.
(I'm not going to and don't want to criticize anyone's ship, it's my point of view regarding ma boy Mitsuki)
Another MitsuCho Theory (Spoilers)
I come back to fandoms and crazy stuff is happening in each one. Everything except a Mitsuki and Chocho moment or Chainsaw Man characters being happy lol. Besides that, let me get started. Because I will never stop.
This is half a “where else are we going with these characters in a story about love” and “I love this ship” theory.
This theory of mine is under the idea of Mitsuki becoming a Shinju. Let’s say he does! I cannot be the only shipper thinking this:
Shinju go after the one they love most, so this is an interesting thing to happen to Mitsuki. Of course I think Chocho would be his target.
Chocho believes Mitsuki likes her + Mitsuki admitted that Chocho stands out = possible foreshadowing at Shinju Mitsuki going after Chocho.
The symbolism is amazing because then we’ll get Butterfly Mode vs Snake Sage Mode. Pink vs Green, let’s go. God just imagine that chapter cover.
Things this might make a callback to:
Tragic Heroine Syndrome.
Orochimaru’s eyes swirled like “a snake chasing a butterfly” (this one is weaker because it wasn’t actually said)
“The path I walk, is that of the snake.”
Here we worried that Konohamaru would be the one to show the viewer what exactly happens when a target is consumed.
If it’s Chocho, I’m going to lose it. Snakes eat butterflies, Shinju eat their target, so… that’s the biggest reason I dislike this. Proving MitsuCho canon is not worth losing one 😭
Every theory has its problems though. Where are their interactions?
Anyway, Shinju Mitsuki being named Tsukimi? Symbolizing harvesting his target, or is that too on the nose? I’d like to hear thoughts on that.
(Also I have questions I’m sure many others asked: where is the sweet InoShikaCho + Himawari moment when Inojin woke up? When are Sakura and Sarada going to talk? When are Chocho and Sarada going to talk? Is Chocho’s necklace supposed to match Sarada’s? I really hope so.)
Going back a bit to my post about MitsuCho being developed after Chocho uses BM...
Another reason that makes me think about this possibility is that the audience will be able to accept them as a possible couple... (we know very well how society views fat people: negatively... and it gets worse if it's a woman - unfortunately, and anime fandom is kind of strange... if you know what I mean...)
I think it's difficult, but what if someone (who reads Boruto manga) has never seen Chocho in her thinner version (BM) and, just like in the anime, she'll start being praised much more for her appearance... seriously, some posts that exalt Chocho's beauty are making her skin less dark or only using images of BM.. sucks... but it's sad reality.
And I also wonder if Mitsucho would already have been established as a future couple (if the ending is similar to Naruto's? Not the same... similar, with new gen canon couples) that's why, MAYBE, they decided to focus on the Chocho arc these aspects: 1° the turbulent ROMANTIC part; 2° using the BM for the FIRST TIME; and 3° MITSUKI being her "savior" to make her (the possibility) as Mitsuki's romantic partner "acceptable" (???) - in the future of course 🌚
He would be (and he is) one of the most beloved characters in the series, not only for being part of the main team, but also for being Orochimaru's son...
So the romantic development between them might only happen after the audience sees Chocho thin ?? (again... it sucks, but that's what it seems like - observing how they made her starting like Mitsuki fr in the anime).
I saw a video on TikTok about how MitsuCho is one of the popular ships in the Boruto fandom, but for the creator it didn't make sense because their relationship "is based on comedy" and people only ship them because of that (tf) and the classic... (tired of reading and hearing about it): "Mitsuki only cares about Boruto."
Out of emotion, I wanted to respond sarcastically... BUT usually using this method, instead of making the person rethink and see things differently, can cause repulsion... so I explained why I started shipping them and made it clear that the comedy part was the LEAST thing that made me ship them. It was only from episode 69 onwards that I started shipping them specifically.
I have a feeling that this creator (a good part of the fandom actually) didn't watch the Chocho arc (if they did, they didn't pay attention to Chocho and Mitsuki's lines towards the end of the arc). It's clear: Chocho has developed feelings for Mitsuki. Mitsuki doesn't care about aesthetics, but about essence (hook for his arc). HELLOOOO...
And I want to point out:
1 - I'm not denying that Mitsuki loves Boruto, he's one of the most important people in Mitsuki's life (just watch the end of the Mitsuki arc and you'll understand me).
2 - I'm not a shipping police. You can ship Mitsuki and Chocho with whoever you want. Just don't start a shipping war and everything will be fine.
3 - Pay more attention to the dialogues. It's a shounen, I know. But the authors chose to address romance as well. If you want to complain, send them a message.

Seeing ep 7 again and it wasn't actually about that guy's crush on Sumire and him being possessed by "evil" chakra; it was all about CHOCHO!!! (I'm referring to the KEY POINT of the ep.) Her influence and how she was/is a light too, yk - that’s how I saw it. And the episode title is "Love and POTATO" 🦋 thing.
Funny thing: Mitsuki expected Boruto to be the "sun" for the guy—who, by the way, is just as pale as Mitsuki... hmm...—but the one who turned out to be the "sun" for him was Chocho!!!

XD IDK which is more tragic, Mitsuki cosplaying as Tobi/Obito and Chouchou cosplaying as Konan when we all know what happened or Boruto posing as Pain? Anyway, I thought it was cute. I miss the Akatsuki...
