i aint even read the damn book and ths author ENDORSED the whitewashing ass nonsense? also why the fuck is the default conclusion for biracial fuckint light skin with green eyes and loose curls not all of us biracial (or direct off spring of biracial) kids look like zendaya or amadlha. nah we done, its over its so damn over 😭. thats absolute 1 sure fire way to not get me to buy or read and of her books man.
That's what I'm saying
Like if your ass ain't for representing the most disadvantaged of us, I dont want what you are selling
And it does piss me off, that everyone's perception of mixed/biracial people is that we are all lightskinned like that, when we all aren't!
Take this model, for instance:
Had I casted her for a movie about a mixed Black and Vietnamese character, yall would be pissed because she's too darkskinned and too unapologetically Black about it. Yall wouldn't even cast her for a character role that features a monoracial Black woman
(Her name is Huỳnh Thi Cam Tiên btw, she's a model and this was for a Vietnamese photography shoot)
And you know what else? Tomi could have made this into a mixed Black story, but in a way where the parents are disappointed their child came out darkskinned. Yeah you guys never heard of that one huh? Yall too used to the "love conquers all" and these parents always love their children no matter how they came out feel good-ass stories. Nah, that's not the reality for a good chunk of us, and yet that's the only story mixed people seem to have
But also nah, Princess Amari is darkskinned and I'm not watching this movie
