Crazy how in 2024 as a mixed person I still constantly hear “well you’re not actually Korean” “you’re not actually Scottish” have you ever considered maybe, just maybe I am both? And I can be both? Have you also considered that it is in fact a beautiful thing that someone like myself born from two cultures on other ends of the world can exist? That I can wear my hanbok with pride one day and my clan tartan the next? That in this world we get to share our cultures with each other? That I can be made of thousands of years of tradition from both Korea and Scotland? Where is your whimsy boy.

I know this sounds insane out of context, but any tips on being Mexican to the point that it makes my white parents uncomfortable? Obviously “finally become fluent in Spanish” is at the top of my list but like. I’m genuinely asking.

Sometimes when I talk about being Korean I feel like that one My Story Animated clip of that chick who was like “I put in big black contacts and a black wig, and turned into a real Korean!” since I look VERY white-passing. (I am half American but still.)

yo so I have a genuine question- why do so many Irish ppl from Ireland hate when Americans claim our Irish ancestry?? Like damn ik I'm not from Ireland, and I'm not gonna say I'm totally Irish bc I'm only 25%- but girl that doesn't change the fact that I'm mixed with Irish- I mean I guess we have our own little subculture of Irish-Americans..?? but currently I've been doing research cuz I wanna make some art pieces based off my heritage (Mexican, Creole, Irish, and Black) and I been on Pinterest looking for reference images for stuff and all I been seeing is 'YOU DON'T COUNT AS IRISH IF BLAH BLAH BLAH..." or "I'M IRISH BC I'M FROM IRELAND- NOT BC MY GREATx100 GRANDMA'S FROM THERE HAHA" (which kinda makes me feel a bit bad bc I'm tryna pay respect and homage to one of the beautiful countries and peoples I'm descended from and I just keep getting told I ain't enough to be proud of/happy abt my own damn family tree) like no hate to the ppl of Ireland I love y'all but what's the problem with Americans claiming their Irish heritage?? we straight up wouldn't be here w/out y'all tbh- and I'm really not tryna to be one of those dumbass Americans that assumes I can do anything here, I just wanna hear from someone from Ireland to listen and try and understand :) ty

i am a demographic form's worst nightmare. ive got the triple combo of nonbinary, mixed, and latine. your puny demographic forms can not even begin to comprehend my identity.

in all seriousness though please for the love of god just put an "other" box. i beg of you. it doesn't even have to be a "fill in your identity here" type box just give me an option that acknowledges im not any of the other ones. stop making me sacrifice my identity for your statistics pretty please with a cherry on top
