A few months ago I decided I wanted to do something to raise money for UHCW University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire #Neurosurgery department, as a Thank You for all the great care and vital surgery I recieved at the beginning of the year. I wasn't to sure what to do, but I knew it had to be something #sporty Nicola Guiver/ NG Total Health suggested a mixed marathon comprising #Running #Cycling and #Rowing. So I said. Ok. Sure. Why not. I got a few training sessions in, practiced, but, wasn't sure I would actually complete it. This time last night, I was feeling very anxious, overwhelemed, and thought I would fail. Today not only did I complete it, I managed to do so in around 3 hours ( I was expecting to be here for 5! ) I also ran for 10 miles, at a fairly good pace #6 - #6.5 + on the treadmill, if that means anything to anyone. I also only walked for perhaps 5 minutes of it, and completed #partone #running in about 95 minutes. I than rowed 5181 meteres ( an odd amount I know, but it's the 3.219 miles needed to make up a #marathon distance ) I also manged to do that faster than I thought! #parttwo #dustedanddone Next up, and the final part, 13 miles cycling. I knew I could do this on a normal day, but could I do this after having done the running and rowing? Well, apparantly yes. I still don't quite believe I have, but I have, and now my legs are aching, but it has been so so so worth it! ( I'm just not going anywhere near the treadmill, bikes, or rower for the rest of the year, haha! ) So thank you, to Nicola Guiver for the suggestion, to Revolution Fitness Malvern for 'hosting' it, to Nic, and Sue, for coming along to spur me on, and to each and every one of you who has donated to this great cause, you have helped me raise over £400 for UHCW University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire. My Just giving page shall be open until Friday Morning. Also, a big thank you is needed for my mum, my family, and to the #neurosurgery team. They've all made this year possible!
