Headcanon A: Realistic
It took her forever to figure out the best way to manage and maintain her hair after she escaped, specifically in terms of properly growing it out. Currently it looks great (about halfway down her back), but for a long time it was this weird mess of strands that she more often than not just gave up on and shoved back as she went about her day.
(Ada lectured her on end about hygiene and self-maintenance when they first met, so that helped a bit as well.)
Headcanon B: Hilarious
Del cannot cook for shit. For someone who played with fire far too often for anyone’s comfort levels, you’d think she would at least be decent at it. The first and only time Del was ever asked to just microwave some popcorn for Mandatory Movie Night (courtesy of Zetta, who demanded they all watch popular movies in order to gain a sense of fucking culture), they spent weeks trying to get all the burnt black bits off the walls. Del is no longer allowed anywhere near the kitchens.
Headcanon C: Heart-Wrenching
When she heard that the war was over, that the rebellion won, her first reaction was absolute terror. Because not only did it mean that Sutherall failed, but it meant that Salem and the others had as well. And in their line of work, failure meant death.
(She doesn’t tell Ada this of course. Ada is too happy to finally have it be over with. Del would rather die than make her worry like that.)
Headcanon D: Unrealistic
She is surprisingly great with children, not counting the time she tried to teach one child proper explosion techniques.
(In her defense, that kid would have learned at some point anyway, whether through someone else, the Internet, or trial and error. Best not go with the last one.)
