Advice for Remy, Day 145. Don’t mix your drinks - unless you’re having a cocktail night . So today’s your mum’s birthday. We’ve had a thoroughly lovely day so far - some nice breakfast whilst opening presents, a long walk in the stunning countryside of the Wolds to blow the cobwebs away, and then some lovely socially-distant company in the late afternoon sun. And then, the fun started. One of your mum’s presents from me was a cocktail night just for the two of us, trying some drinks we’d both heard of but never actually tried out before. We had a few things in, but most ingredients (tequila, Cointreau, vermouth, Angostura bitters etc) weren’t already in our drinks cabinet, so I went on a rather alcoholic shopping spree. But now, not only do we suddenly have the best stocked drinks cabinet in the world, but we’ve also had a cracking birthday evening. Having grown up knowing cocktails as those drinks filled with alcohol to an unnatural degree, usually coloured bright blue and given away at appalling bars, it has been thoroughly enlightening and educating to drink some properly blended drinks with excellent flavour combinations. I usually hate tequila, can’t stand white rum and am not wildly keen on the taste of bourbon, but have had drinks containing (and tasting of) all three this evening and bloody loved them. We’re through the Cosmopolitan, Daiquiri, Pina Colada, Margarita, Long Island Ice Tea and the surprisingly beautiful Old Fashioned and it’s thoroughly changed our view on drinks. We’re about to pour a Whiskey Sour (containing an egg white - I’m sceptical, but if this evening’s taught me anything its that it’ll probably be gorgeous) and head on into the night with a few more, hoping that all these mixed spirits don’t play havoc in the morning. But for now it’s enough to say that if you mix your drinks, just make sure you mix them with the right things and you won’t go far wrong.

I don’t know how to mix dranks so my friends mix them for me 😂🤷🏻‍♂️😂 ahahahas I should really learn how 🤦🏻‍♂️😅 BUT AT LEAST I DIDN’T MIX IN THE BUBBLIES WHILE MAKING A DRINK AND SPILL ALL OVER THE COUNTER AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAS xD . Yea we weren’t really thinking and Shannon added some bubbles into the tumbler - we didn’t realize our mistake until the drank started gushing out ahahahahahas we should have just added the bubbles after ;-; . But what can I say, I like my bubbles (anyone remember that fish from Finding Nemo?) . On another note, LOOK AT HOW AMAZING THE FOOD LOOKS!!! So yum, much wow ^-^ Also, can we talk about how @jindotheolive almost winked at me? ;D lololololol .
