Fifteen minutes prior, if you asked Kim Mingyu what his plans for the evening were, he would have told you that he was going to bring his take-out food up to his apartment where he was going to eat it alone, find a way to waste his remaining time, before deciding whether he was going to go to sleep, or head back out for the night. Sadly, his social skills proved to once again be too big of a problem for things to go completely his way. Of course, he never could have anticipated that as he was rounding the corner to head up to his room that he was going to be bumped into. Normally, he was fairly quick and stealthy and he could have prevented the entire situation. Unfortunately, his mind was elsewhere and he was so busy thinking about certain things that he didn’t quite have the time he’d need to react. The food that he had picked up not too long ago flew from his hands and landed on the ground, various containers popped open and fresh food spilling out.
He didn’t mind, it had been an accident and partially his fault, after all. Still, he couldn’t help but be slightly annoyed with the fact that now, not only did he not have any dinner, but he also was being forced into socialization with a stranger that he’d seen around but not known anything about. He forced a smile her way and wanted to deny her offer at allowing him to come up to her room so that she could make him dinner to make up for it, however, his awkward tendencies failed to make that possible. Instead, he accepted the girl’s proposition, though he was already dreading how painful it was probably going to be for him. What was he going to talk to her about? It’d be weird if he sat in silence the entire time, right? What if she was playing at something else? Was there a bigger picture that he wasn’t picking up on? He decided to push these thoughts aside, however, for if something were to go wrong, he liked to believe that he’d be prepared enough.
So, although he knew it was going to be far from easy for him to find enjoyment in the entire situation slowly unfolding in front of him, he still couldn’t stop himself from following the girl up and towards her penthouse. What was the absolute worst that could happen? He felt he shouldn’t answer that. There were plenty of things that could go wrong. Instead of voicing any of his doubts, he spoke up with a simple, “I hate that you’re going to go through this trouble for me. It was just an accident, really. I don’t expect you to repay me for that.” A quiet laugh followed and he slid his hands into his pockets as he tried to act casual. He seemed to be doing an alright job so far.
