Couldn't go without having at least one Puyo Puyo-related thing. This right here is an arrangement for the theme that plays in the Dragons' Shrine/Graveyard in Madou Monogatari: Big Kindergarten Kids. Enjoy!
(Truth be told, this took way longer than it should have...)
Notes:
I had originally wanted to use the "Choir Aah" instrument for this remix, but it didn't really give me the feel I wanted. I went with the "Synth Vox" instrument instead, and that worked a lot better.
I also got a burst of last-minute inspiration writing this remix, but I've decided to leave the product of that for another time...
I'm not happy with this one. 😕 I thought I'd try drawing Annatar, Lord of Gifts - that's the disguise/persona Sauron wore to befriend Celebrimbor the Smith and influence the Elves of Eregion to forge the Rings of Power.
However, I'm not really at the stage where I can draw an original face without references, and I couldn't really think of someone I wanted to use as Sauron's face!
The rings he is offering are three of the Nine that he offered to the Kings of Men.
Didja miss me? Yup, I'm back for round 2 of Mix-Tober! I'm kicking things off with another banger from the happiest Super Famicom cartridge on earth, Mickey no Tokyo Disneyland Daibouken! This is the theme to stage 4, which takes place in the iconic Haunted Mansion attraction. (No, it's not Grim Grinning Ghosts, sad to say...)
This was really fun to make, so I hope you enjoy!
Notes:
Quite a few of the tracks in this song have an echo. These tracks are basically quieter copies shifted by half a beat.
Man, finding instruments for this was not easy. I tried my best to recreate how the original sounded, but there are some instruments in the original song that I couldn't really find any equivalents for in my library...
Anyways, yeah! Enjoy the spooky season with this spooky music!
Hello, everybody! Haven't uploaded one of these for a while, huh? I had this MIDI file sitting around on my computer, and I thought, why not finish it? For my first Mix-Tober remix, it's the theme song from the grandmother of magical girls, Sally the Witch/Mahou Tsukai Sally! Enjoy, and sing along if you know the words!
Arranger's Notes:
This remix is mostly based on the version of the song found in Pop'n Music: Animation Melody, with some nods to a Korean dub of the opening.
I really couldn't figure out how to make the instruments I originally had in mind work, so I switched over to my good friend, The Fixed Jummbox Soundfont, previously used for Peaceful Toad Town.
I also added a little bit to the ending, because I felt the original's ending was a little too abrupt for my tastes.
That's all for now, but check back again next time for more spooky beats on Mix-Tober: music so good, it's scary!
Aw yeah, number three! This one is an arrangement of Shade Man's theme from Mega Man 7, a game whose soundtrack is very nostalgic to me despite having never played the game until recently. (Thanks, Super Mario Bros. Crossover!) Enjoy!
Arranger's Notes:
This uses the same soundfonts as my last remix, with HQ Orchestral being used for the drumkit.
I picked the "Atmosphere" instrument for the intro because hot DAMN, does it feel nostalgic.
There's an easter egg in this remix, and I'm not saying what it is...
Yeah, this song does kinda deviate from the actual game's composition, but isn't that the beauty of remixes?
The drum track at the beginning is inspired by Seren's panic theme from Panel de Pon.
Hello again! For my second remix of Mix-Tober, I decided to dig a little into my memories to find spooky tunes to remix. I talked about a flash game this month already, so why not bring up another one? This is one of the level themes for Snow Tale, and it plays in those spooky levels with those creepy stalactites and green crystal things, and those enemies that look like Spinies and behave a little like Boos. Enjoy, listeners!
Arranger's Notes:
I think this might go without saying, but most of this was transcribed by ear - with a little bit of extra flair.
This was my first time using effects in LMMS! ReverbSC was a big help in making this song sound creepy.
The soundfont I used this time was a Soundblaster soundfont I found on the Internet Archive. It's pretty cool.
The piano, however, comes from the HQ Orchestral Soundfont, because you can't get that kind of piano sound anywhere else.
My computer briefly froze up a lot as I was making this. As I was editing the audio, Audacity straight up vanished on me! Spooky!
@klugpuuo @fluffernauto @fiery-is-in-pain @volcanolotus @bread-pat i think you all should see this
This prompt is from the Mixtober table my friend @tagulansahulyo created. ❤️
A fairly straightforward take, I think. Also, I can't do symmetry. 😩 Though I like the bottles and that last potion, with its unnatural bubbling and vapours.
The plants depicted are hyssop, vervain, veppilai/neem, and mugwort - all traditional healing herbs used in either Western European or Indian traditional medicine. I wanted to include yarrow and/or rue but when I Googled them, they were even worse than the vervain, with lots and lots of teeny flowers clustered together, and would've been a nightmare to draw.
Oh boy, fourth music thing in a month! I'm breaking records here!
This one's based on the Spooky House theme from Mario vs. Donkey Kong, as well as its sequel, March of the Minis. Enjoy!
Notes:
This remix is mainly based on the extended version from March of the Minis, but it also takes a couple cues from the original Mario vs. Donkey Kong, as well as the Switch remake.
Man, was it hard finding instruments for this that worked. The original uses a percussive organ, but I didn't like that too much so I used the rock organ instead.
I wanted a full saxophone ensemble thing at the beginning, but I decided to follow the Switch version and go minimalist instead.
Yes, it was hell transcribing that drum solo near the end, thanks for asking
