Does Finney or Robin confess first?

KYAA okay I'm a sucker for cutesy romance. Short answer: neither of them but Robin ends up looking like he did (?) okay long answer 3 2 1 go

Okay so this might seem more of a personal preference than a 'they would definitely do this' typa thing but I'm a big fan of homoromantic friendships where it leads them questioning what they truly are. It makes it more interesting #tome. So I view them in the same way where they honest to god act like they're dating but never put a label on it. Oh robin? He's my best friend. Don't give me that look, Gwen. I told you we're just friends!

They do get all close and personal with no word about it but internally Finn's way more on edge about it. He finds his attraction to his best friend inappropriate and his gut churns if he thinks about him one minute too long. (Me and Robbie have been writing abt this it'll be out to the world #soon but here's a snippet)

THIS IS in direct connection to the second chance au so this basically sums up his thought process. Robin on the other hand sort of accepts himself for what his feelings are. He could view it as "wrong in society" but ultimately he doesn't give a crap. He already acts however he wants and fights for what he thinks is right, so I'd think it'd be like this as well.

A confession would lead to Robin gaining the guts to ask Finn what they really are (because Finn would be too scared to, which would leave them in a static position).

Robin: What are we, really?

Finn: What do you mean by that?

Robin: You know what I mean, Finn.

Finn: … I don't know.

theeen they'd probably get in a bit of a fight where it's like 'I'm in LOVE with you and I know you love me too, Finn.' 'But it's wrong!' 'Okay, well, when do we always do the right thing anyway!'

But hey at the end of the day. They communicate. Kind of. And yaaay now they know they're not just friends!

OKAY SO here's my little 'what if Robin actually survived' idea I quickly conjured up. I diddd think of the plot a little but it might seem a little dumb (?) obv it's just for fun and all so I'm not that keen on thinking how realistic it'd be in tbp universe.

On how he'd survive I ruled out the thought of him being somewhat buried alive? Maybe the Grabber in some sick and twisted way buried the boys right before their lives were cut short as part of their 'punishment'. With the others, for example Vance, the thought of survival was nothing but a pipe dream for them. Vance who was hinted at getting 'the worst of it' ("and he took his time with me too."), died with rage in his heart at not being able to escape death, even if he was left alone to take his last breaths. With Robin, I feel he was kidnapped and dealt with only days (maybe a week at most) before Finney, because of how the movie was paced. With that and some godly insane miracle, he'd continue to fight for survival in the other house they were buried in while Finney was in the basement. Now I'd just assume he clawed his way out before he suffocated LOL or maybe the grabber sucked at burying the bodies. OR MAYBE he left a little breathing room just to mess with them before fully burying them after death! who knows. The reason why he never checked on Robin while Finney was captured is the same reason why his kidnapping wasn't going the way he wanted, everything was fucked up. Nothing was going right.

Due to Robin's call being such an important part of the film, I had to think a little on how to change it. I wouldn't say he'd still call Finney as that'd ruin the whole 'dead talk through the broken phone' thing, so I made another boy call him again. idk who, probably Bruce or something since he 1. knew Finney and 2. probably wanted him alive the most, not including Robin. Why they didn't tell him about Robin sooner I guess they didn't have any hope for him? Or just thought he'd die soon enough? But when they noticed FINNEY losing hope and Robin still alive, that's when they decided to tell him. With Finney dejected and almost losing all hope, he'd get the last call telling him how Robin was still alive and needed to be saved. He didn't have much time. With a newfound need for survival for both him and his friend, he packed the phone with dirt like in the movie (I feel he'd figure it out himself, maybe the phone call could hint at it somewhat) and then he'd try to recall how Robin would fight before. Killing the grabber yadda yadda and at the same time the detectives find Robin clinging for survival in the other house. Maybe Gwen's dreams could be brought up here too and her being like oh shit is my mind playing tricks or is there a chance Robin could still be alive???

BOOM! Finney's out the house, Gwen rushes to hug him, and Robin gets quickly carried out to get taken to the hospital as fast as possible. Finney watches in astonishment as the detectives rush to him to check on him and the house he just left.

The recovery process would be rough, but in the long run they'd turn out somewhat okay. Black phone 2 still obviously happens, but it'd be a tad different, especially for Finn's character, because he wouldn't be alone. Also Robin wouldn't haunt the narrative 😭😭😭

OKAY SO I think everybody knows by now how I love making them two (Finn and Robin) opposites in the way they act and think. With Robin, he fought for survival and clung onto hope, then he deems his escape as his best friend saved his life. He now looks at his life as given a 'second chance' (title drop) and makes sure to never waste it away. With Finn, he fought but lost hope until Bruce told him there was still a chance for Robin to live and get out there. In the movie, Robin died for a friend. Here, Finn continued to survive for a friend. Despite all that, in his heart, the survivors guilt is still crazy strong. He mourns the boys who died before him and is only glad Robin is alive and getting better, but not himself. He's jittery for the first year or so after the escape due to the constant nightmares and its a more common occurrence for him to lash out. There's both envy for not 'moving on' quite like Robin is and guilt for even being envious when he clearly had it far worse than him. IDK HES MESSY AF it's hard to explain him with words I'd draw him suffering crazy style if I had the time. Okay I lost my thoughts hope u like this tiny bit of him
