I’d love to hear some info about amaranthe! I’ve seen some posts about her but know next to nothing. I love her name and vibe!

Her full name is Amaranthe Vaenna Ilanis Darcelle, the half-elven Princess of Evermeet, daughter to Ilanis Darcelle, Queen of the elven kingdom Evermeet and her human paramour, Jonathan.

She’s very beautiful, violet eyes, dark hair that has a purple/red tint in some lighting, and prefers to wear darker clothes, contrasting against the elves who favour bright colours or pastels. She wears the fact she is a bastard with pride, as she adores and idolizes her parents. 

The Darcelle line is tied to an ancient diety-like creature known as Sanguine, who is also the hexblade parton for the Blood Hunter Order of the Profane Soul. She answers Sanguine’s call to the dismay of her parents, as she has a desire to protect her families lands and their people, and wants to prove herself worthy of their trust. 

Her teenage and early adult years are spent acting as a huntress, protecting those who can’t fight for themselves. Her journeys take her across the Sea of Swords to the Sword Coast, where she meets like-minded adventurers Corvus, Zed and Zazif--unfortunately they all find themselves unwilling players in Strahd’s game. 

Its in Barovia she meets her bestie, Vander, the soft-spoken birb-obsessed ranger, and also the man she would fall in love with - Balthazar, a human barbarian who has loose ties to the Vistani, and was the unfortunate victim of human test experiments, a weapon to defeat Strahd and it shows in his overwhelming strength yet he maintains a sunny outlook on life, cracking jokes and bantering with the party. She admired his light that shine despite all this darkness, and she responded in kind, with levity and good old fashioned ribbing, learning to make the most out of a bad situation. 

So Bal and Amara’s will-they-won’t-they finally came to fruition towards the end of the campaign. Amara isn’t a patient girl, and even though she’s quite shy she though ‘fuck it we could die might as well live before that’ and finally kissed that stubborn jackass (also I should mention like...a few weeks after he first met the party he turned into a tiefling. We didn’t really have much of a reaction other than the initial ‘errr what?’)

Basically she returns home aaand shit has hit the fan. Her Uncle is now on the throne, her father was murdered and her mother had been feeble minded but it was more like...a permanent state. So even after Amaranthe rallies those still loyal to her parents, her mother can’t take the throne. Amaranthe weds Balthazar, is coronated and eventually makes the hard decision to kill her mother out of mercy.  She was basically a vegetable, and she knew her mother enough to know she wouldn’t want to live like that.

She lost both her parents. Amaranthe up to now had always been a little naive, immature even, but now she’s grown the fuck up because she had to. Even though she loves her family dearly, and her uncle’s betrayal and their eventual death hurt, life went on, and she learned to be happy again, birthing four children (two sets of twins), Autumn and Winter, and 9 years later, Spring and Summer. (Yes Autumn is a my PC and Winter is my friends, who we played in Dragon Heist). Autumn, Spring and Summer are all tieflings, but Winter, weirdly, was a aasimar. Autumn’s infernal heritage and the bullying she suffered early in life left her with a serious rage problem that only Winter could soothe. 

But even with the diffculties Autumn face, Amaranthe is happy, a loving husband, beautiful children..until her older twins run away and Winter ends up dying in a fireball intended for another target.

It broke her. She was bitter and angry, even lashed out at her daughter, forbidding her from returning home until she avenges Winter. She regrets her words, to an extent, but knows Autumn needs it. She needs a goal, and something to focus her anger on to help her deal with guilt. It hurt them both, but it also helped Autumn. 

But Dragon Heist has passed, Autumn has returned back home with her boyfriend and now Amaranthe is enjoying helping Autumn to raise her seven children lol

Touch 14

“Brushing the hair out of mine’s face” - takes place during Disaster Trevelyan Siblings AU. I made myself v sad while writing this so…

“Go! I’ll hold Nightmare off.” Lis steeled herself, watching Alexander’s expression fall with a small nod of agreement. “Make the Wardens better, Stroud,” she warned with a smile full of regrets, “or I’ll come back from the Fade to haunt you.” Joking made it easier, she thought, already striding away from the Inquisitor, hoping it would be enough in the end.

Across the stretch of rock, Lis caught sight of Varric already falling back through the hole, a bittersweet sadness rippling through her. Good. They’d be following him, one by one, until she was alone in this hellhole. Lis gripped her staff tightly, her magic already surging to the surface as she called up a firestorm. “HEY!” 

The what-ifs of her life and could-have-beens were there at the front of her mind as she let fire rain down from above. She couldn’t look back; if she did, she would fall and they needed time more than anything.

If she was going to die, at least she would go down swinging.

Ioan had come to a halt across the rocks, waiting to usher Alexander through. “Ioan! What are you doing?” Cora was just ahead, while Lis had already begun to run towards the creature instead of away. There was a choice before him as he watched the woman he loved hurrying towards death while the rest of them raced towards safety.

He knew what he had to do.

“Take care of Alexander!” Two steps forward were all it took to grip Cora’s arm in his own, squeezing it gently. “And listen to Emmeline. I know you two don’t see eye-to-eye, but you both need one another.”

“Why are you saying this?” In the unnatural light, Ioan saw the pain and fear that gripped his youngest sister; despite all her bluster, he could see her heart shining through the armor she wore around herself. There were so many things he wanted to tell her, apologies already on the tip of his tongue for being too late for so much of her life. It settled like a lump in his throat that he swallowed stiffly against.

“I love you, little wolf.” He let go, hurrying to stay out of reach as her hands scrambled to catch him. He could hear her calling his name, hurrying back down the sloping terrain. Alexander’s face was drawn, bewildered the moment they met in the middle.

“Ioan-”

“Get Cora through and save the wold, Lexie.” He clapped a hand on Alexander’s shoulder, his grip firm but brief. They would make it through, he thought, drowning out the sounds of his sister’s yelling against the harsh winds and shrieks of Nightmare before him. He’d make sure none of this was in vain.

His sword sang through the air as he hacked and halved a few of the smaller fears that were sprouting in the ground around him. “Lis!” His shield smacked over another crawling beast, sliding down another bit of rock with singular focus.

Lis had turned at her name and he caught the surprise on her face before, with a shout, she shot a bolt of lightning over his shoulder. There was a sizzling and pop as a spider fell behind him. Ioan had spent years running in armor, swiftly closing the distance as he bashed his shield against one of the massive legs from the massive abomination before them.

“What are you doing?” Her voice broke, the dam of emotion cracking the surface as Ioan held a shield above them as another hairy, terrible spider leg came crashing down upon them. His knees buckled, just slightly, but, gritting his teeth, Ioan held fast.

“The right thing.” Shaking with the effort to hoist the beast off, Ioan paused for a moment that seemed to last an eternity. All of the hurt, the lies, the sides they had picked, didn’t quite melt away, but something else rose to the surface as his gloved hand reached out, tucking a few strands of light brown hair away from her face: forgiveness. Imperfect and flawed, but there nonetheless.

“Together?” He whispered, his thumb brushing away an errant tear from Lis’s cheek.

“Yes.” 

Acceptance washed over him as he leaned in, pressing a soft, chaste kiss to her forehead. If this was to be his end, at least it would be where he should have been this whole time: at her side.

For Cassian:

02. What is one of your character’s biggest insecurities? Are they able to hide it easily or can others easily exploit this weakness?

He’s got tons, but I think his biggest insecurity is his abilities as a cleric. He spent his childhood being told that he had a gift from God and underwent the training.  Cassian choose another path for himself when he became an adult but found his way back to it after the years (and losing his family), he doesn’t trust that his abilities won’t get taken away by a justifiably disappointed God.  Cassian also is incredibly frustrated with how far behind he is too, if he had stuck with it he would have been far more advanced.  He could’ve saved Lilith and he blames himself.  

I think he is just so miserable and grumpy that its difficult for people to distinguish between his general assholery and being insecurity.  

09. Do they have a favorite season? What about a favorite holiday?

He loves Fall and Winter, and his favorite holiday is Feast of the Moon.  While most celebrate and honor their ancestors and the respected dead, for Cassian it was also always a time when his family (ALL of them) gathered together to catch up and spend quality time together.  Cassian has a lot of cherished memories during that holiday :)

14. Do they live alone or with family? How do they feel about their family/roommates?

For the first time in a LONG ass time, Cassian isn’t alone. He got dragged along by his mercenary partner Edmond on a new mission and now is trapped in Strahds domain.  If he makes it out alive, I think Cassian might actually have a group of friends...

For Trev:

06. Do they have any hobbies that their lover finds unusual, odd, or otherwise annoying?

Trev isn’t really a hobby kind of gal?  She sets a goal / objective and just single mindedly and obsessively pursues it. So...lack of hobbies is unusual? haha.

24. In their own words, how would your character describe what their lover is like?

“Perfectly adequate, not that it’s any of your business”

50. If your character confessed love to their crush, boyfriend, girlfriend, etc, what would they say?

This is actually something that Trev totally has in common with Cassian.  It’d be a totally accidental confession due to distress over her loved one.  Definitely a “Why am I worried?  Because I love you you ASS”.

1. I chose the name Io because it’s the name of one of the moons of Jupiter ahahaha it’s pretty simple.

2. Her biggest insecurity is, obviously, her being a godlike. She wants to know that there’s a reason for her being “chosen” by Ondra, and she wants to live up to that expectation. She wants to belong to something and she’s worried that she’ll miss whatever signs the goddess will send to her.

22. Io has played around with some piercings in the past (she got real bored hanging out in forests all the time) so she has several earlobe piercings, a nose piercing, and a piercing under her bottom lip. She has small face markings that she was born with, but she’s never experimented with permanent tattoos. She does draw on herself a lot though, to experiment. Please imagine this small crazy godlike running around the forest by herself with pictures of animals drawn all over her body.

35. She is definitely afraid of death. She’s afraid of dying without having done anything, she’s terrified of dying alone. She wants to have people in her life, and she wants people to care if she’s gone.

50. Hahaha she does do this, and she’s not slick about it. She straight up just tells him “I’m in love with you.” When he tells her he’s not sure he feels the same way bc he doesn’t know if he’s really made for love, she is determined to change his mind.

1. What is/are your OC’s nickname(s) and how did it come about? 

Pebbles - Varric gave her this nickname when he saw a small pile of crystals and stones she collected while on a mission.

Darling flower - Her mom calls her this all the time, mostly because of her name.

Love - (mostly copied from another ask) Cullen struggled with not saying it at first and always caught himself at the last second because he wasn’t sure how she would react. He ended up blurting it out one night when he carried her away from her desk when she was being stubborn and wanted to keep working on reports.

3. How tall is your OC?

She’s 5’8.

5. What does your OC normally wear? What would your OC wear on a special night?

She likes to be comfy for the most part. In canon, she usually wears trousers and tunics and in modern, she goes for leggings, jeans, boots, sweaters, etc. She hates dressing up for formal events, but she’ll wear a dress and heels if necessary. She’d just look grumpy the entire night xD

7. Does your OC have any markings, such as a birthmark or a scar?

In canon, she has a scar over he left eye, claw marks on her right shoulder, and random scars from sparring or missions. In modern, her hands have a few mild scars from working with flowers all the time.

9. What does your OC’s bedroom look like?  His/her living area?

Her quarters in canon are pretty neat for the most part, with the exception of her unmade bed and a few pieces of clothing on the floor. She has a chest filled with the many stones she collected next to her desk, which is filled with reports and random little trinkets she found during her travels. She also has a bundle of mint on the nightstand next to her bed. In modern, her apartment is very cozy, with random books scattered throughout the place. It not completely neat, but its not a mess either - just lived in xD Luna keeps her doggie toys scattered all over the place and sometimes hides them in the sofa cushions too.

no joke this is one of the main reasons me and my bf haven’t married–too much pressure to have some crazy big wedding from our friends and families. Like–his mother would end up spending a years salary on it and has basically offered to do so. It’s just not worth it lmao.

... omfg. I’d totally go for a sneaky marriage, maybe not even tell the parents, because I fear the same reactions. Everything about those high class weddings feels so superficial. As if I’d ever spent 2k on a dress. Ugh

14. Ingrained habits/forces of habit:

Quite a few, actually. Military life is all habit and routine. It took him a long time to break the patterns he’d developed. Waking up at dawn every day, keeping quiet in even the most general of situations, cleaning and maintaining armor/weapons almost to the point of paranoia, feeling guilt indulging in rest or pleasure, etc. He still feels uncomfortable feeling “alone” and “surrounded,” either in combat or public situations, due to conditioning. He can manage that well enough, though. He’s also developed an unmitigated distaste for tritons. Can’t help but scowl when he sees one. He has a few ticks – like his finger twitching when he’s affected/upset – but otherwise nothing much more complicated than that.

15. What it takes to make them cry

Kallias’ biggest coping mechanism is turning most sadness into anger, so seeing him crying or him just crying in general is uncommon. It certainly happens, though. He cried when he found out his mother was still alive but thought she hated him, and when she said she didn’t; he cried when he learned he had a little sister and therefore wasn’t alone; he cried when he thought she had betrayed him; and he most recently cried at the birth of his babby. Not necessarily out of happiness, either. It’s sort of a fucked up situation.

Liners with balm are always p awesome! I used to prefer it when I was heavy into dark makeup because it could blend and clean up a little easier.
