I just wonder if staying within the U.S. with coaches who have power with USFSA would have been better for them :/ Getting out of Nationals will probably be even harder next year and they need all the help they can get.

The shibs most definitely a change in coach like right now

They should have left with Igor when he and Marina split. I don’t even really like Igor, but I think he did good work with Nathalie and Fabian who weren’t really a conventional ~lovey dovey~ romantic skating pair.

And obvs the Shibs don’t want to go down that route because EW. But I don’t think Mariana knows how to showcase the Shibs to their best because of it. The Shibs have absolutely gorgeous skating and their fundamentals are solid. They just need a coach who can figure out how to create great programs for an skating pair that isn’t going to touch anything romantic with a 10 foot pole.

Also both the Shibs are really sweet and funny and smart and I love them and I want them to take over the world of ice dance.
