2 and 12 for the soft asks please! Ombra (and Falkus if you're in the mood <3)
2. What's their favorite comfort food that they eat when they're sad?
12. What's the sweetest thing they've ever said to their partner (if they have one)?
Soft OC asks
Ombra
2) I can say that Ombra doesn’t really have a comfort food like that because her appetite drops very low when she’s feeling unwell, in general. “Why would I waste my time eating something when I can busy myself with work?” She thinks.
12) Something like “You put my mind at rest.” This woman NEEDS peace and silence, so someone safe enough to be able to create that environment for her, even for a short amount of time, deserves to hear that aloud.
Falkus
2) I think he goes for a snack of which he can have a lot, so he can frequently reach for it to calm himself down. For example potato chips, cookies, candies and crackers. It’s the repetitiveness that soothes him.
12) Silence. When he shuts up for ONCE and sits in silence with his partner, that person’s heart should be melted (But unfortunately he’s stuck with Midas lol).
But I also think that, at some point, he looks up at his partner with puppy eyes and says “Can you stay?”
Note: We’re having another snippet of the Hotel AU! Viktor and Enenra belong to @mids-dumbbrain
Summary of the whole story: The Elder Gods have created an otherworldly hotel in an unknown location in the void to force the kombatants into a peaceful retreat. The hotel’s security system prevents the kombatants to use their abilities and powers, and also not the hotel’s belongings in a harmful way (such as a stool for example). The gods are the receptionists and managers. Each night, the roommates are randomized, pushing the kombatants into getting along with each other. As a result, each character decides to do their own thing to cope with this situation. Ombra is no exception. Though she gradually finds solace in the company of a necromancer she had encountered before.
Note 2: I’m not going to explore every single one of the characters and what they’re doing. BUT if you like this whole idea, you’re more than welcome to write your blorbo’s part!
“Wow, can you believe this? They even thought about this part!” Falkus opened his arms to gesture at the elegant bottles of alcoholic beverages behind him.
I leaned my elbows on the bar counter, my voice nearly inaudible. “Do we have the option to leave?”
He blinked, then shrugged. “Not teally. Why do you want to leave?”
“Who is going to stop us if we leave?”
“The, well, the whole place. There’s no exit. There’s no portal. You are absolutely incapable of leaving.”
So that was it. I was stuck. We were stuck.
He continued. “You’re not going to be here forever. Enjoy it while you can. Right, Quan Chi?”
I craned my neck. Quan Chi was walking towards us with his usual ghost of a smirk. I took a brief moment to eye him up and down; black shirt, maroon vest, rolled up sleeves. I pushed my shoulders back.
“Does the matter involve me?” He took a seat next to me.
“I was lecturing her about taking it easy and enjoy this free vacation. She’s paranoid.” He spinned to pick up some tools. I shot him a glare he didn’t catch.
“Quite understandable.” Quan Chi turned to me. “And you are not the only one.”
“Have you lost your powers too?”
His smirk widened ever so slightly. “I was no exception from the hotel’s security system.”
I dropped my gaze to the counter.
Quan Chi continued. “This hotel is an endless maze. You-“
“What if I try? Has anybody tried?”
He gestured at somewhere behind me with his chin. Just as I turned around, one of the glass walls shattered down.
“Enenra! Wait!” A boyish voice came out of a shapeless black. It lunged at the exit it just made, but the glass was immediately regenerated out of thin air before it could slip out.
I looked back at Quan Chi.
“The Elder Gods are determined to keep us together.” He said in a low tone.
“In peace!” Falkus yelled at the boy and his black company.
I stared at nothing on the floor. My shoulders were slightly hunched. If the Elder Gods were willing to use their immense powers in this way, why didn’t they use it earlier? Why did they decide to use it when I had an iceberg of work to do at home?
At least, no one could really hurt anyone in this territory, if the Elder Gods valued us the same as the glass walls.
I felt his stare on me. “The conclusion would be?…”
“Play their game, I suppose.”
“Come with me.” He stood up.
I followed him suit. Just as we were crossing the main lobby, I eyed the distance between his shoulder and mine. He was approximately thirty centimeters taller than me.
“Ombra!” Asfel shouted from the distance as he dashed towards us. “Ah, look, I got-“
I nodded. “I understand. Me too.”
He looked up at Quan Chi and chuckled. “Yeah, right. Have fun with your new friend.”
We went downstairs. It was darker than the levels above. Instead of chandeliers, single candles were attached to the walls. We reached a desk with no one behind it.
“Ask me before you do anything.” I warned him.
“Here is the spa section. I brought you here for the sake of relaxation.”
I raised my eyebrows. “This doesn’t sound much pleasant, coming from you.”
“Ugh.” He grunted sarcastically while writing our names on a paper.
HIIIIII HAZEEELLLL <3 YK I GOTTA DO THE ASK GAME TOOO AND FOR BOTH OMBRA AND FALKUS!!! :D
[6] How direct are they in conversations, do they speak in hints and riddles or bluntly say what they think?
[13] What kind of sense of humor do they have, if any?
[15] How do they act around people they don't like?
[23] What was the worst, the darkest period of their life that they have been through?
Hiii Foo! THANK YOUUU FOR ASKING! Sorry for the late response though.
Ombra
6) How direct are they in conversations, do they speak in hints and riddles or bluntly say what they think?
She’s straightforward in what she wants to say, yes. But she doesn’t say whatever comes to her mind. She’s very particular about her words and conversations, subconsciously thinking she’s either interrogating or being interrogated.
13) What kind of sense of humor do they have, if any?
I don’t what you can call this, but she’s the type to point out the details in a lighthearted way. She’s also mostly the type to have inside jokes with specific people. You may see her make Asfel laugh and you have no idea what she’s talking about.
15) How do they act around people they don't like?
Either cranky and snarky, or totally neutral if she doesn’t want anyone to about it.
23)What was the worst, the darkest period of their life that they have been through?
Definitely when her parents just perished in the flight incident and she was left alone with all that grief in a foreign country, and then when she was kidnapped and taken to the Black Dragon, and all the while in BD.
Falkus
6) He’s rather blunt in conversations. In a way that he usually goes “oh, I shouldn’t have said that I guess.” But he doesn’t regret it because of hirting that person’s feelings, but in a “Now they know how fucking problematic you are” way.
13) Sarcasm. In a way that makes you roll your eyes. He also laughs when he shouldn’t.
15) Extra sarcastic. He pushes them to their limits with his comments. Yes, he’s quite insufferable.
23) After that incident with the Elder Gods during which he went through an existential crisis and had a three sixty degree transformation lol. He used to be all wise and kind like Fujin and Raiden. He also used to have long hair like them, but then he cut it.
