I know that for Knight Rider 2008 they defo did chemistry read with Justin Bruening and Deanna Russo for the intended romance of it all, but I wonder if they did it for Justin and KITT?

Coz de facto Michael and KITT are the leads, and honestly, Michael has TON more chemistry with his robot car partner than with supposed love interest. AND solid relationship development.

Consciously or not, writers wrote a love story between a guy and a robot fighting crime together, and I personally think it's beautiful.

the thing is - producers decided to make another sequel Knight Rider series, and went looking for their lead - new Michel Knight (Jr.), and they end up casting...

they end up casting A SOAP OPERA ACTOR.

Justin Bruening is not an action actor.

He still did awesome in all the action bits, but HE'S VERY MUCH A ROMANTIC LEAD ACTOR.

Tell me again how this show is not a romantic drama about a boy and his sentient car robot
