Do think that, purely from a realistic standpoint, it would have been safer if the ladybug and the black cat were kept in separate miracle boxes? I mean these are the two miraculous that together can literally destroy and recreate reality itself. I just personally think it would make sense to keep them in different boxes so that if one box fell into the wrong hands they would get the other miraculous.

Logically, there should be safety measures to be placed to guard against the Wish.

Now, whether they should have been separated or not depends on how the Guardians organize all those Miracle Boxes, and it depends on how it's all set up as, five seasons in now, and we still don't know why things are the way they are. Like, as far as we know, LB and Cat are at their full potential in capability if they're close together, especially as this seems to be the only two that can grant a Wish (so far). So it could be a must for them to be close together. Could even be why Fu thought it'd be best to release them both despite that risk.

We can't say for sure on anything as they haven't really given us any details on why the miraculous are set up like this, or why these specific 19 are in this box.

But, yeah, you would think there would be something in place to help guard against potential Wishes happening.

And a big part of it is just poor planning on the creators part. Or they just don't care enough to think about that.

She was excited. How could she not be? It was the first day of school. A lot of her friends were about as busy as she was during summer break (Although they’d argue that she was much busier than they were) but now she’d get to spend the entire day with them again! Not to mention the fact that they’d be getting two new students today! So, if you had to ask, yes, Marinette Dupain-Cheng was excited for today, and nothing could sour that mood.

Unless things went terribly wrong and a megalomaniac with a poor taste in fashion decided to pop up and ruin her life for good came along.

But that could never happen!

…

Right?

…

Right. She skipped downstairs, kissing her mom and dad goodbye while she grabbed the sandwich, they prepared for her and the two trays of macarons from the table. One was meant for her new class, obviously, while the other was the reason she was heading straight for the library. After all, wasn’t it the duty of a member of the student council to show up to meetings on time?

“And don’t forget to eat your lunch.”

“Okay Nora.”

“Try not to rush things, okay? It’s only your first day…”

Really, did she always treat her like a child? Last she remembered Nora went and dropped the twins.

Wait.

It was changing!

She got so distracted by her own excitement she tuned out whatever Nora was saying. Because she would be a hero today!

Wait.

Would she get the Ladybug Miraculous?

“…I know it’s great to be in a new school, but you really…”

She wouldn’t admit to thinking about it before.

…

Well, she would.

“…and we can’t keep doing this…”

Who wouldn’t want to be a superhero! It would have been so fun to go on patrols around Paris, stopping crime and having fun with her friends!

“…mom and dad are still upset…”

Honestly, she’s still a little mad at Marinette for keeping it a secret for so long. She’s good with secrets!

“…I know you had good intentions, but…”

Well, now she knows that Marinette is Ladybug, she can just tell her she knows that its her! And then they’d be superheroes together!

“…it might be intimidating to be in a new school…”

Or she could take her earrings from her before she even meets her Kwami! She seemed unreasonably upset before when she tried it, so maybe it would be for the best to not get her involved.

“…in a new city…”

But her Adrienette ship would sail! She'd make sure of it this time!

"...but please..."

Her coming to a stop in front of Francois-Dupont High brought her back from her musings to whatever Nora was saying.

“…promise me you’ll try?”

“Huh?”

“Alya…”

She looked oddly concerned. Frick. Well, hopefully her response would be good enough for Nora to let her go. Destiny awaits!

“Yea, yea. Everything’s going to be fine, I swear.”

That brought a smile to her face.

“Okay Als. Have fun!”

Yes, yes she will.

“Don’t cause any trouble!”

Oh she’d cause trouble. But it was for the greater good!

With that in mind she rushed straight into the school building, not even registering the quiet, strained please coming from behind her.

It was loud. Very loud.

“Alya! Wake up!”

And that made it worse. It was a strange feeling – a constant pounding in her head, made worse by every single sound around her. One of which was getting louder.

“ALYA! You don’t want to be late for your first day of a new school, do you?”

Alya groaned as she hid under her blanket

Wait.

First day?

New school?

She popped up before falling back down. Her head felt like it would split down the middle. Adding that to the confusion made for a terrible way to wake up. She reached for her phone on her bedside table and stared at the screen.

Wait.

It was the first day of school again.

Did she go back in time?

Why would she-

The Wish!

…

Was this it?

She looked around. There weren’t any pictures of any of her friends and her room was more empty than she last remembered it.

So she did go back in time.

…

She didn’t know. Strange. Her wish was for her to know who Hawkmoth was, but she doesn’t remember that. Maybe she’ll find out on the way to school? Hawkmoth was meant to make his debut today with Stoneheart. Maybe she’d stop him before he did that?  

Well, whatever the future held she’s glad that she made the wish. And who knows! Since she knows Marinette is Ladybug, she can help her get with Adrien!

The mood she was in didn’t go unnoticed by her parents, but she managed to play it off as her being excited for her first day of a new school. If she paid more attention to them, she could have seen the worried glances they shot at each other. She could have heard the twins murmuring, oh of course she would be happy. She could have seen the strain in Nora’s smile as her older sister patted her shoulder and her wary expressions which appeared on her face as Alya kept trying to run towards her new, perfect life, starting at her new school.

Life isn’t as simple as we think it is. Reality itself is a concept we know frighteningly little about, but we feel reassured by simple concepts which barely scratch the surface of the truth of the universe at large. Exploring the truth of the universe and the ideals of the metaphysical would be impossible, but it can be summed up in a metaphor: a show.

There is someone behind what we can see, directing everyone and ensuring that things occur in the right place at the right time. Actors play roles according to a set script, and characters are constants. The reviews are, well, mediocre, but it occurs according to the director’s plans with no hurdles coming in the way of the production process. Unfortunately, divas and drama queens do exist, and they’re not just made up for reality TV.

And when one such drama queen decides that their version of the script is superior before hijacking the production to ensure that everything goes according to their vision without actually consulting the people involved in the show, people tend to get hurt. It’s either the director hurt everyone by bending to the will of a drama queen or they show that in the greater scheme of things, messing with the story isn’t the best course of action. But ultimately, if they hold something which can force a change in the script, the director has no choice. Although, unfortunately for her, Miss Cesaire wasn’t very detailed in the changes she wanted. She wanted to know who Hawkmoth was?

Fine.

Let it be known that the universe can be petty when it wants to be.

Silence. Marinette sighed.

“If you’ve been akumatized, we can work things out. Please Alya. We don’t have to let Hawkmoth win.”

“First off, that hurt. Second, do you really think I’d let Hawkmoth akumatize me?” Alya said as she stood up and brushed herself off, “I’m too strong for that!” She flexed her arm as a show of strength, seeming nonchalant about the situation at hand, which was very ‎concerning considering she had two of the three things that Hawkmoth needs to win.

“Then why are you trying to take my Miraculous?”

She seemed surprised at the tone being used. As if it wasn’t a big deal.

“Well…, I’ve been thinking.”

Marinette made sure to appear very interested as she inched herself closer to the balcony window.

“You know how you told me that Hawkmoth wanted the Miraculous to make a wish? That means that we can make a wish.”

That stopped her. Because really? Was she deaf to the entire part where she explained there’d be terrible consequences? The potential for large amounts of death and destruction? Did she really not consider that?

“So, we could use the wish to find out who Hawkmoth is!”

“Alya.”

“If you can give me the other earring- “

“Alya Cesaire.”

She flinched at that. Did she really expect her to go along with every single crazy plan she comes up with? And using force to get things which she wanted?

Wait.

She’s done this before.

Every single scheme involving Adrien.

New York.

And while they were dating other people.

Telling Alya was a mistake. She should’ve told Alix. Alix knows how to keep a secret. And she was assured to be a Miraculous team member in the future.

Which Alya was trying to hijack.

“Alya, it’s not as simple as that.”

“Girl- “

“Let me finish. The wish rewrites the entire world. It’s not as simple as you’re trying to make it. It won’t work.”

“You don’t know that.”

“I don’t. I know I don’t.” God this was just like Chat. Every time he sacrificed himself and letting Hawkmoth get close to winning. “But I’m still not going to risk the lives of millions, heck, billions, of people on something we don’t know will actually work. Now give back my Miraculous. And yours.”
