hi :D I've always tried to make a seer of space named Luna, with an interest in art and astronomy . i think i'm missing the mark though on my understanding. can you tell me more about seers? I'm confused about how they "see"

Seers and Mages both seem to have supernatural premonition abilities, but there’s more to that. Sollux and Meulin, as Mages, are uncannily perceptive of their Aspect. Sollux has his Whispers, yes, but namely, he just instinctively know that everyone is going to die, specially him, he’s going to die the MOST. Meulin on the other hand has a way of seeing what people mix well with others, and pushes them to get in a relationship, giving her this vibe of being prophetic with relationships.

And in that same vein, Rose and Terezi, too, have their supernatural means, literally seeing in their mind’s eye, the most fortunate path, the outcomes of their choices, just having it naturally come to them. BUT. Unlike Sollux, who just, knows that things are going to be FUCKED, and Meulin, who ships with her powers and doesn’t give it much more thought, even foregoing happiness just for the sake of appearances, Seers seem to be more into the ‘research’ and ‘experimentation’ aspect of things rather than just relying on these visions. Rose, researching and gathering and keeping an eye open for every piece of information about the nature of SBURB and how to overcome its challenges. Terezi, demonstrating her powers to Dave, taking fate into her own hands after knowing what came ahead, using her pre-foresight to calculate and predict exactly what changes would’ve made things better in Game Over.

Both Seers and Mages have these supernatural means. But Seers seem to shine with going the extra mile and supporting these visions with a broader knowledge of the situation, while Mages seem to be more prone to having their visions inform their course of action.

probably. i think every new generation feels that way to some extent, but the good news is that since every new generation seems to feel that way it means when they get old enough they finally have the ability to enact the change theyve been wanting to see in the world. there are still roadblocks and setbacks but overall, progress to a better existence are being made. two steps forward and one step back is still forward progress.
