@mlkcrtn liked for a starter : x
❛ you are way too chipper at 9 o’clock in the morning, ❜ nathan mumbles, adjusting the camera bag on his shoulder. rachel was bouncing and flowing in the sun, hair whipping behind her, multiple paces ahead of him. he was rarely up before noon on the weekends, and even though he had downed a few mugs of coffee at two whales before they made it to the beach he felt lethargic. the sun was effective at warming him up the closer they got to the sand but he was afraid he would be burning soon. ❛ we could’ve shot these photos for class indoors, you know? ❜

❝ if you’re looking for someone to tell you that it would, you came to the wrong place. ❞ heather says plainly, expression even before she relaxes into a smile. there’s no judgment reserved for the woman before her, certainly with her having no room to talk. she manages a soft laugh, tucking her hair behind her shoulder and leaning forward. her voice lowers, as if she’s sharing a secret. ❝ the only thing that makes someone a slut is deciding to call yourself one. it can be a compliment if you want it to be one. ❞

ruby couldn’t stand the culture here, especially among the artists. pretentiousness is a commonality among institutions like these and the photographer wonders why she’d tried to bother with it. the only people she actually ended up making at least some kind of friends with, were rachel, chloe and maybe one or two others. she still had a fear, finding your best friend’s body will do that to you. ❛ how are you so cheery this early in the morning? ❜ / † —— @mlkcrtn.
“ i just know that something good is gonna happen. “ ( @mlkcrtn )
“ optimistic. that’s cute – trust me, we’re gonna need it.”
sideways glance is thrown at her companion, from the front row seat at the lacrosse field’s bleachers, Lydia sits reluctantly with her legs crossed, book tucked beneath her handbag that perches between her and the other ( she’d rather finish reading her biography on Marie Curie than indulge a team of sweaty, smelly teenage boys running around with sticks ). still, Allison has once again dragged her into the game ( before, it was for Jackson’s sake than she would attend and pretend to cheer and bounce up and down when they scored ); however, this time there’s a much more empathetic approach on it, given that Scott is playing.
Such are the intricate oddities of friendship.
“ our lacrosse team is tragic – I don’t even keep track and I know we’ve been losing like crazy lately. ” air of vain indifference to the game playing before their eyes, she turns her nose up in a slight scrunch, “ worse yet? the boys in the team all think they’re the biggest deal – like a ‘drop to your knees and blow me right now’ kind of deal. trust me, scott’s the only decent one, and he’s already head over heels for allison, which is another tragedy on itself. have you seen the biceps he’s packing lately? ”
