Im so happy to hear you like my art, thank you. Sometimes it's very difficult for me to work up the courage to put stuff out into the world but I'm glad I did and I'm glad you could see it. <3

oh thank you ! there’s not really much for me to share i pretty much just use the default round brushes on photoshop lmao

Hello! I've been following Namesake for a long time now, and i'm so impressed by the progress you made art-wise! Your art was already amazing back then, and seeing the evolution is fantastic! Do you have any tips about how to stay motivated to keep progressing?

The two main things that seem to help me is practice a lot (minimum of 2 hours of drawing per day) and keep a lot of inspiration around. I have a zillion pinterest boards and hundreds of comics and artbooks that I just waste time looking at. I personally learn really well by observation, but that’s not everyone. Also, if you use traditional media, try out different tools.

hey there!!!

i struggle with art block all the time!!! it’s a big bummer. but! i’m a works-on-lots-of-stuff kind of a person (scatterbrained…you might call me.) so if i feel like i’m struggling in the 2D, on-screen medium of digital drawing, i’ll put it down and have a go with some 3D paper mache. and if i’m not feeling that, i might bust out the ukulele and try learning a bit more of how to…be musical. (i have no affinity for it but it sure is fun just to give it a go!) and if that doesn’t work out, then i might crack open google docs and have a go at a bit of writing!

for me (and i can’t say this’ll work for everybody) the trick’s just to move onto a different project, and excercise a different creative part of me noggin. or! look at some inspiring stuff! you can check out my art inspo blog here and my fashion inspo blog here! ✨✨✨

Since you did the highest voices, what are the lowest female roles on broadway?

YES ID LOVE IT! 

These are the roles with the lowest low notes! 

Mrs. Sowerberry from Oliver! (C3-F5)Donkey from Shrek (C3-B4)Madame Armfeldt from Little Night Music (C3-F#4)Leading Player from Pippin (D♭3-A♭4)Gary Coleman from Avenue Q (D3-A#5)Fraulein Schneider from Cabaret (D3-A♭4)

Since Donkey and Mrs. Sowerberry have the lowest note they could be considered the lowest female roles. However, among these with the lowest low notes of all of musical theatre, Leading Player and Fraulein Schneider have the lowest high notes, and LP has a lower low note than Fraulein Schneider so they could be the lowest role in musical theatre 

Another issue for people looking for the lowest roles is when they can’t sing high at all, so then you would want to look at the roles with the lowest high notes period, even if they don’t have the lowest low notes. Lets look at those: 

Nimue from Camelot (D#3-D#4)Grizabella from Cats  (G3-E4)Mrs. Gloop from Willy Wonka (B3-E4)Madame Armfeldt from Little Night Music (C3-F#4)Grandma from Billy Elliot (F#3-F#4)Leading Player from Pippin (D♭3-A♭4)Fraulein Schneider from Cabaret (D3-A♭4)

So we see Madame Armfeldt, Leading Player, Fraulein Schneider again so those could be the definitive lowest roles in musical theatre even though Nimue have the lowest high note.
