Per The Daily Telegraph (@telegraph)... Former @ufc middleweight champion @robwhittakermma pulled out of his scheduled UFC bout with @killagorillamma due to undisclosed reasons. Soonafter, reports surfaced suggesting he pulled out to donate bone marrow to his daughter. That proved to be nothing more than a rumor. “I have no idea where that came from,” Whittaker told The Daily Telegraph. “During the break, I got off all social media to spend time with family, so it was my old man who actually contacted me, explaining there was this crazy rumor going around, and from there, it just got a life of its own. But my kids were all fine. They are fine. It was me who had the issue.” Come to find out “The Reaper” was burned out and fed up with being away from his family. After losing his middleweight title to Israel Adesanya at UFC 243, “Bobby Knuckles” dedicated time to re-evaluate his career and the toll it took on his family. Whittaker has since agreed to make his octagon return at UFC Dublin on August 15th. That, however, could be in jeopardy as a result of Ireland’s announcement to ban live events until the end of August. Per @espn mma @pflmma has suspended its 2020 season as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. Plans are to resume competition, which entails both a regular season and playoffs in the spring of 2021. Additionally, fighters will continue receiving monthly cash stipends throughout the remainder of 2020.
