UNKNOWN: ...Hello?...
MC’s day was shit, like really shit. All it did all day was rain, which wasn’t the bad part. She normally loves the rain. Something about the way the raindrops sound on the dilapidated roof of her one bedroom apartment soothes her worries about the roof also causing the rain to leak onto her living room floor. The way the rain smells reminds her of the touch of her plush comforter over her legs after a warm shower; it was her favorite feeling.
Though, right now, she couldn’t do that because she was currently tracking mud through her front door coming home from the shops. Her hair was sticking to her forehead. Was it from the sweat of running home or the rain that hit her while she was running home? Who knows, all she knew is that she finally had the object of her desires.
What can she say, she needed soda; she was also out of deodorant but, to be honest the sweet release of Dr. Pepper makes the pain go away. All she wanted to do is pop the tab off that can and swallow it in one gulp.
With her left hand free and her right occupied with the can she pulled her phone out of her pocket. She was so ready to sit on her old couch and do nothing but listen to the rhythm of the rain above her head and watch Metube until her eyes hurt. Pressing her home button her eyebrows soon furrowed in confusion as she stared at a notification from “Unknown.”
Two thoughts crossed her mind, one, “How does this person have my number.” and two, “Who in the hell uses ellipses anymore.”
But, MC has always been curious; and her curiosity hasn’t killed her yet, so she's not stopping anytime soon.
MC: ?
UNKNOWN: Can you see this?
MC: Take a lucky guess. Yes I can see this.
UNKNOWN: … Finally connected. Thank god.
MC: Who are you?
UNKNOWN: I’m sure you’re surprised, not everyday you get a text from a stranger.
UNKNOWN: I’m a bit flustered myself, I found a smartphone at a subway station and all it had is this app.
UNKNOWN: I’ve been sending messages with this app but no reply…
UNKNOWN: All I see is an address and some important-looking numbers saved in notes.
UNKNOWN: I’d like to go there myself but I’m currently abroad…
MC: An address?
UNKNOWN: Yes. There’s a Korean address and a long number. I think it’s a password.
UNKNOWN: Do you mind going to the address?
UNKNOWN: That’s all that’s saved in this phone.
UNKNOWN: I know you’re surprised to have someone suddenly pop up and ask you a favor like this.
UNKNOWN: But still…
UNKNOWN: I’d appreciate it if you could help.
MC: So let me get this right, you want me to go to a random address that a random person texted me, from a RANDOM number and then break into a home just to find out whose phone you found on a subway?
UNKNOWN: … yeah
At this point MC has no clue what just happened, but now she is standing at an apartment door staring at a handle with a lock.
MC has never been one to think through decisions; she was known in high school to do anything if you put, “bet you won’t,” or “no balls,” at the end of their sentence, so she was not surprised that she was currently here.
Normal people would most likely be thinking at this point, “I should probably share my location with a friend just in case” or, “I’m a fucking idiot I should leave.” MC was thinking, “If I die from this and they put, “died from visiting a random persons apartment because a stranger told her to’ I will be so pissed”
UNKNOWN: Are you there? ^^ See. Nothing strange.
UNKNOWN: Is there a password lock on the door?
MC completely forgot she was there for a reason. Taking an oddly shallow breath she responded.
MC: Yea
UNKNOWN: I’ll send you the digits. Try it.
She mouthed the numbers in the code as she pressed the button, her finger was shaking for some reason. This wasn’t a bad feeling she was having, it was just… weird.
As the final button was pushed the door cracked open just a bit to see a small but neat apartment. It looked completely different from hers, MC’s apartment was messy and filled with odds and ends that she will never use but refuses to give up; this apartment was simple and quaint with not a thing out of place. It feels like an oddly colorful and cheery ghost town.
MC: The door’s open.
UNKNOWN: Good. Why don’t you go inside?
MC: Can I just enter a stranger’s house?
UNKNOWN: You can just leave a note. I’ll give you my info.
UNKNOWN: If something happens, you can just show my messages. That’ll do.
MC: Then… Alright.
When she walked in it was just as expected. Other than dust, the apartment was squeaky clean; an orderly desk was set up with a slightly uncomfortable looking chair slid under it.
She was so caught up in the feeling of walking into a stranger's home that she hardly noticed the person texting her again.
UNKNOWN: Th

UNKNOWN: you…
