A cyber form of Sigma’s Velguader Mech appears around his head.
SIGMA:
I enjoyed that performance so much… but that’s enough entertainment for one night!
ZERO:
(annoyed)
Entertainment!?
X:
You’re sick!
SIGMA:
Hehehehee. Playtime is over now. You both must fall! Hahaha! Get ready to be destroyed!
X:
It’ll be the final battle! I’ll finish you at any cost!
X charges up and runs over to a corner. Zero braces himself in the middle of the room.
The Wolf Mech turns its head to Zero and fires powerful blasts directly at him.
ZERO:
Augh, Aghh, AHH!
Zero gets hit in mid-air three times from the blasts as he is flung to a corner and damaged.
X:
Zero!!
Sigma slams a huge paw down by X, who jumps away. X quickly hops onto the paw and switches to Rolling Shield. As Sigma raises his paw, he sets off electricity which fries X at close-range.
X:
OOOOOGHHHH.
X falls down, hurt.
ZERO:
X!!
He fires a Charge Shot directly at the side of Sigma’s Wolf head and lands a hit, making it turn his head.
SIGMA:
Oof.
His right paw grabs Zero and brings him closer.
ZERO:
Aaaagh…
X gets up and fires a Rolling Shield as Sigma tightens his grip. The attack hits him, but he focuses his attention on crushing Zero.
X:
Hurgh.. Leave him alone!!
SIGMA:
Hahaha! You’re dead, ZERO!!
X:
NOOOOO!!!!!!
X kick-jumps up the wall.
SIGMA:
(in pain)
Aaaagh!
Sigma throws Zero to the ground and swats at X with his right paw.
SIGMA:
Not this time X!!
X:
Gahh!!
From the ground below, Zero slowly gets up and recovers, just as X falls to the ground.
ZERO:
Ughh..
The wolf head looms over both of them.
SIGMA:
Die!!
Sigma sets off a huge flamethrower from the Mech’s mouth.
ZERO:
(Surprised)
Whoa!
X dashes right into Zero, shoving him away to safety.
X:
Uunh… Not yet…
On the ground, Zero looks at X surprised as he gets up.
ZERO:
That’s it!
He clenches a fist, which glows in a blue hue of power.
X huddles over in pain, backed into a corner by the wall as he watches Zero. Zero runs over to the middle of the room.
ZERO:
I’ve had enough of you Sigma!!!
Zero punches a glowing fist into the ground as he sets off his Giga Attack.
SIGMA:
Whaaaaat?
Powerful plasma strikes up towards Sigma’s Mech in an arch, as it reaches up to the chin of the Wolf’s head.
SIGMA:
(damaged)
Whoooaaaaaa!
The giga attack fades as Zero becomes exhausted. Cracks rupture at the sides of the Wolf Head, but Sigma is left ultimately unfazed by the blast.
SIGMA:
Hah!
Sigma smashes his paw down onto Zero, who gets flattened by the attack.
X dashes out of the corner with fervor as the other paw slaps X in the back.
X:
Oughhhh..
SIGMA:
HAHAHAHAHA!!!! You fools!! The Heroes are down and there’s nothing left to do… When I get out of here, I can’t WAIT to finish the rest of you pesky Hunters and make this World mine again!
Suddenly X is up, intact.
X:
NO! That’ll never happen. It’s OVER, Sigmaaaaa!!
X pulls in his open palms, as his hands glow blue.
SIGMA:
Who are you kidding X? I sense your life-force fading. That blast is probably all you have left in you…
X’s eyes glow green as his gem glows red.
X:
If that’s what it takes, then so be it…
SIGMA:
(annoyed)
You wreckless bastard!! I won’t let you!!!
Sigma sweeps his arms at X, who hops over them instinctively. X runs up his right arm as the plasma in his hands turn from blue to red.
X:
We’re the only thing standing in your way!! I won’t let you leave Cyber Space. I won’t let you exist on any dimensional plane!!!
X high jumps towards Sigma with a Dragon Punch.
X:
SHOOUUURYUUUUUUUKEEEEEEENNNNNN!!!!!!
X’s hand glows with pure red energy as he makes a fist and punches the Mech in the green gem. His fist balls up into flames as the glass around Sigma’s face shatters.
SIGMA:
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The Mech’s head becomes engulfed in flames, as explosions from the neck socket begin to overload the circuits.
X lands to the ground; his adrenaline still pumping.
Zero watches X in awe, as he suddenly collapses.
ZERO:
(gasping)
X!!
Zero dashes over to X, and holds him up by the shoulder as they both watch Sigma’s body begin to explode.
SIGMA:
(disheartened. defeated)
Why… Why do you win all the time… Where does your power come from…? GuaaaAAAAAAHHHHHHH!
The Mechaniloid’s body erupts in a large chain explosion through the room. Zero holds on to X, who has passed out on his shoulder.
ZERO:
We gotta get out of here X…
Zero warp teleports with him, just as the room explodes. As they teleport, X’s body fades away.

INT. MAVERICK HUNTER BASE - Cain Labs - NIGHT

Zero warps right out of the Mother Computer and falls on his behind, as if struck from a blast.
ZERO:
Agh!!
DR. CAIN:
(startled)
Zero!!
ZERO:
(worried)
Where’s X??
DR. CAIN:
He’s right here… I transferred him offline safely, just in time, but his lifeforce is fading fast…
ZERO:
WHAT!? No!! I’ll give him my Sub-Tank!!
Zero pulls out a Sub-tank from his chest and dashes over to X. Dr. Cain frowns as he watches Zero try to resuscitate him.
DR. CAIN:
I’m afraid there’s nothing more we can do… Now, X needs to rest, and we can only hope for the best…

INT. MOTHER COMPUTER CORE - Internal Control Console - NIGHT

-fade in-
X hurries back to where Middy is suffering.
X:
Middy, hold on! We have to evacuate now!
MIDDY:
Uh… X… It… seems I’m done for… but.. Thanks to you, Techno recovered his senses… Thank you, X… It means more to me… than you can ever.. know…
X:
Middy!
X reaches out to him, but he fades away.
The entire Computer core fades away, as X now stands in a Grid World.
X:
What’s this??
The green lined grids start to shape itself into Sigma’s Cyber Face. X seems to be floating in blackness as he stares at Sigma’s huge Cyber Form in fear.
SIGMA:
Bwah ha ha ha. Your efforts are futile… I will never be defeated! As long as Mavericks exist… As long as evil exists in the mind of humans… I’ll come back again and again! X, Zero… I’ll pursue you to the end of the world! Bwah ha ha ha! Farewell! FOR NOW!! Bwah ha ha haaaaaaaaaaa!
Sigma’s head explodes directly in front of X. The huge explosion erupts in the entire area and the blast takes X with him.
X:
AAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!!
Everything goes dark as X lays down flat on his back. He looks over to himself and notices that his own body is starting to completely fade into the darkness.
X:
Is this it…? Am I… dying??
Suddenly X feels a shock to his system as he jolts up.
X:
AH!
Then he feels another shock, as he can faintly begin to hear something.
????:
'ome on X!!
X:
Huh?
Bright light starts to seep into the World.
ZERO:
(loud)
Its time to wake up X!
-fade to white-

INT. MAVERICK HUNTER BASE - Cain Labs - DAY

X stirs from his Host Capsule. He is completely unplugged from the Mother Computer. Zero is waiting for him along with the Medic Staff.
CASSANDRA:
Wake up sleepy heeeead.
X:
Huh?
CASSANDRA, a nurse bot tilts her head, smiling as she gently shakes X, awake.
DR. CAIN:
Oh thank Goodness!!
Suddenly, many Maverick Hunters in the room cheer, as X realizes that they’ve finally won.
ZERO:
X, you did it! Our mission was a complete success.
X:
…What? No.. What about Middy?? I couldn’t save his life…
X frowns.
Zero offers a blank face in silence.
X:
Zero… I’m sorry…
ZERO:
…It’s.. not your fault. Middy sacrificed himself to help all of us. He kept us in the dark most of the time, but.. in the end, he helped us defeat Sigma.. Let’s not waste his sacrifice! From now on, lets make every day count!!
X turns his head and sighs.
X:
(bitter)
………It isn’t true peace when the strong rule the world and the weak are sacrificed… It’s very wrong…
X turns over in his Capsule feeling tired, and emotionally exhausted.
X:
I will always fight to prevent that!
Captain walks over to X and pats him on the arm.
CAPTAIN:
Good work in there X. None of us could’ve gotten through this without you.
X looks over to his Commander and gives a tired nod as he closes his eyes and begins to pass out.
Captain smiles down at X in respect.
CAPTAIN:
(relieved, content)
Hm..
-Freeze Frame-
CAPTAIN:
(v.o, narrating)
Thanks to X and Zero’s work, Sigma’s ambition to take over Cyberspace was prevented. But Sigma’s last words make X feel unrest deep within his heart…
X:
(v.o, thinking)
What was that dream…?
SIGMA:
(o.s., v.o)
As long as Mavericks exist… As long as evil exists in the mind of humans… I’ll come back again and again! …I’ll pursue you to the end of the world!
-Unfreeze Frame-
X opens his eyes and scowls.
X:
(v.o, thinking)
I won’t let evil win! No matter how strong or how many enemies I must defeat, I will always fight to protect our peace.
X rests his eyes again as Captain turns to the rest of the Hunters and files everyone out of the room.
CAPTAIN:
Come on gang. X needs to rest. We can all catch up with him later.
Captain walks out of the room with the Maverick Hunters.
Dr. Cain and Zero stay behind.
DR. CAIN:
(v.o, narrating)
I’m afraid that evil is an entity that none of us can ever completely bring to an end. However, when evil emerges again… I know that they’ll be there to fight…
He watches Zero sit at a chair by the Mother Computer while X rests in his Host Capsule.
DR. CAIN:
(v.o, narrating)
For now, I can only hope that the world will give X and Zero some peace…
Suddenly, the Mother Computer blips, as they receive a recorded message from Techno.
DR. CAIN:
Hmm?
Zero’s eyes widen.
ZERO:
What the-
Techno appears on the screen, from the core’s internal console.
TECHNO:
(filtered)
Humph. You’ve done very well… I didn’t expect you to defeat me and the others…
X gets up from his Host Capsule, groggy and annoyed.
X:
(scowling)
Hmmm?
TECHNO:
(filtered, continuing)
But do you have what it takes to complete the “Extreme Challenge” that I’ve programmed for you? This is an awesome simulation containing 8 data worlds to clear. I may be dead now, but this program will always live on as it is specialized just for battle! So, why don’t you go for it? If you have the guts… Hope to see you again… Heh heh heh…
X:
(annoyed)
WHAT!?
DR. CAIN:
Delete it!!
Zero immediately tries to delete the program, but receives an error alert.
ZERO:
Shoot! I can’t!!
X:
Oh nooooo!
ZERO:
Wait..
Zero smirks. He notices that there are no terror alerts all across the globe like before. In fact, the Earth is as peaceful as ever.
ZERO:
Heh..
X:
What?
ZERO:
So Techno wins in the end after all…
Zero starts to chuckle until he breaks out into a small fit of laughter.
X:
Heyyy! What are you laughing about?
ZERO:
Hahahaha! Do you know what this means, X?
X:
We have to do this all over again?!
Zero shakes his head, laughing.
ZERO:
Nope! We just got a new training program!!!
X:
(gasping)
Haw!
ZERO:
HAH!
Zero points at the camera with a wink.

X and Zero enter a familiar lair, where they hear Sigma’s voice echoing through the walls.
SIGMA:
(o.s.)
Fu fu fu… I am impressed. You have done very well.
Sigma appears before them, draped in his original v1 outfit.
X:
Sigma! You’ve been behind all of this!!
SIGMA:
Fu fu… Your efforts are worthy… But they will end here! Ha ha ha! Get ready to be destroyed!
ZERO:
I don’t think so Sigma! Did you forget what happened last time you tangled with both of us? We kicked your ass!!
SIGMA:
Heeheeheeheheehe. Oh Zero, you ignorant fool… Didn’t you think it was strange that you both defeated me so easily last time?
ZERO:
Hm?
X:
(questioning)
Easily..!?
SIGMA:
Haaahahaha! I wanted you to force my Data Form into the Mother Computer! It was only a matter of time before I’d find your Network! You’re no wiser than before, X! And now you will both pay for your ignorance!
X & ZERO:
Hmph!
The two of them dash towards opposite corners of the room in a V-formation. Sigma dashes after X and slices at him with a diagonal cut from his Sigma Blade.
X narrowly ducks out of the way as Zero shoots him in the back with a level 2 shot.
SIGMA:
Ugh…
Sigma narrows his eyes and turns around.
SIGMA:
Calling Zero won’t help you!!
Zero fires rapid fire at Sigma, as Sigma rushes into Zero and directly slashes him across the chest.
ZERO:
Aaaaaghhh…
Zero falls to the ground, wounded from the chest.
ZERO:
So it’s gonna be like that, huh??
Zero gets up and takes out his Z-Saber. From a nearby wall, X is seen kick-jumping and charging up his buster.
X:
Take this Sigma!!
X shoots a purple wave shot at Sigma. The blast knocks Sigma to the ground. Zero runs over to him and aims to cut him down with a double-handed broad stroke. Sigma rolls out of the way and gets up with a grin.
SIGMA:
Heeheehee… So you fancy yourself a swordsman now?
Sigma pulls out his blade.
SIGMA:
Come. Let’s see what you have learned…
The two quickly dash after each other, and parry each other’s attacks, perfectly.
X watches their every movement, stunned.
X:
(v.o, thinking)
Oh man, just look at them!
Zero grits his teeth with fervor.
ZERO:
How DARE you toy with X’s emotions like that!!! All this time!!
As the two strike with even attacks, Sigma laughs.
ZERO:
(continuing)
Hacking into our Mainframe, haunting X, and causing chaos all over the World..!!
Zero strikes towards Sigma’s hip, but he parries it away. Then he takes an overhead blow, which is parried and held by their interlocking beam sabers. Zero closes in on Sigma as he looks up at him with hate.
ZERO:
Your plan was almost perfect Sigma, but you forgot just one thing.
SIGMA:
Oh yeah? And what’s that??
X points a charged yellow buster to his back.
X:
We’re the Maverick Hunters!!!
SIGMA:
Hmm??
X quickly shoots a Super Electric Spark directly into Sigma’s back at point blank range.
SIGMA:
AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!
Deeply affected, Sigma fizzes sparks from his joints as he falls down to one knee. Zero takes advantage and slashes Sigma in the shoulder.
SIGMA:
Oooooohhhhhhh.
Sigma starts to bleed out from the gash in his shoulder. X dashes around Sigma and fires rapid electric sparks at him while he’s down.
SIGMA:
Aaaaaagh!
As he is crouched down, he desperately fires gem shots at Zero and X. Zero falls down as X guards himself and takes the hits.
SIGMA:
Hmph!!
Sigma gets up and turns towards X and Zero.
He backs up, making sure to keep the two in front of him. Sigma fires more gem shots at both of them. X dash-jumps away to the wall behind him as Zero dashes over to the other side.
X kick-jumps away from the powerful shots, as he climbs up the wall.
From the other wall, Zero begins to charge up.
Sigma high-jumps after X. X narrows his eyes and points out his buster. He fires another Electric Spark, while Zero fires a level 3 Charge Shot at him.
Sigma gets struck from both sides in mid-air, as he falls down to the ground in pain.
Zero capitalizes, as he fires rapid fire at Sigma while he’s down.
Infuriated, Sigma teleports over to Zero, catches him in the back of the head and smashes his face into the gate next to him.
ZERO:
Ooouufffff
X:
Zerooooo!
A bloody gash runs down Zero’s forehead as Sigma smirks into an evil grin. Sigma then harshly kicks Zero across the room.
ZERO:
(in pain)
Haaagh…
Zero rolls away, and sits up, holding his shoulder - wounded.
SIGMA:
What happened, Zero…? I thought you were so sure you could defeat me…
X points to Sigma.
X:
I’LL defeat you Sigma!!!!
Sigma looks over to X, pleased.
X:
(angered, protective)
Leave Zero out of this!!
SIGMA:
(smiling)
Hm.. Very well…
X:
After all the mindgames you’ve played today… and all the innocents lost from your NEEDLESS VIOLENCE!!!! /I’m going to make sure that you stay down…
At the dash, X clasps his hands together as they start to glow into blue Plasma.
Sigma’s eyes widen.
SIGMA:
I see… In that case, I suppose its time that we both gave it our all.
Sigma charges up in a purple aura of power. Zero looks at them with wide eyes, as he’s never seen power of this magnitude before, from either of them.
ZERO:
(v.o, thinking)
WHAT THE-
SIGMA:
(maniacally)
Hahahahahaaaa! Now is the time, X! Give me everything you got! I’m not holding back!!
Sigma spreads his arms out further as a massive purple orb of power begins to form around his body.
X:
Neither am I…
With his palms held open together, X slowly pulls his arms back, staring at Sigma fearlessly. X’s gem glows red as his eyes begin to glow neon green. His whole body slowly glows into light blue light.
SIGMA:
This is it, X!! What I’ve been waiting for all this time!!! You’re finished!!
Sigma looks at X with an excited grin as he unleashes a huge purple plasma beam at X. X looks at the blast with intensity as he puts his arms out, and pushes his blast forward.
X:
HADOUUUUKEEEEEENNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!
X fires a small hadouken out of his hands, which slowly scatters the purple blast into rays across the room. As the beams collide, X’s Hadouken gradually overpowers Sigma’s blast.
SIGMA:
What?! NOOOO! Not agaaaaaain!!
X:
(cold, harsh)
Why did you think it would be any different this time, you Fool!
X:
It’s over, Sigma…
The hadouken advances into Sigma’s hands as they disintegrate in the blue light.
SIGMA:
(in pain)
Nnnnoooooo!!
His body slowly turns into ash, as his core explodes. X glares at the explosion.
When the smoke clears, X sees Sigms’a head lying on the ground, offline. X grimaces at the sight as he takes a deep breath. From a far corner, Zero sighs as his shoulders slump. He puts his hands to his forehead in amazement.
ZERO:
Oh man… X, you did it!
X narrows his eyes.
X:
No… its not over yet, Zero…
Suddenly Sigma’s creepy voice echoes into the room..
SIGMA:
Ha ha ha… Nice try! But you are just a tiny bug to me! Ha ha ha ha…
ZERO:
What!? Sigma.. but how!?
Sigma’s head eerily floats in the center of the room and lurks up by the ceiling.
Sigma:
Hahaha… No matter what you do boys, it’ll always be in vain! Hahahahaaa…
X:
All right! Looks like we’re gonna win this one after all!
DR. CAIN:
(o.s., filtered)
Good luck!
The gateway leads X to a vertical corridor, with walls shrouded in spikes. Platforms with Flamer Mechaniloids loom above him as his only access above. X takes a deep breath.
X:
Okay…
X concentrates and carefully makes his way up 5 platforms as he takes out 3 flamers in the process. At the top platform, he is able to see a short ladder, just out of his reach, which leads to the top of the room.
Once X reaches the top of the room, he runs through a set of corridors where Partilasters await him by a short wall, which guards the entrance to the next gate. X narrows his eyes as he takes out the partilasters one by one. He climbs up a wall and takes out 2 more partilasters on his way down.
As the gateway draws near, a few Batton Bones fly in his path. X waves them away from his face, and shoots the next few that get in the way. As X makes it to the gateway, he takes a deep breath as he swiftly walks inside.

Techno panics as he looks at the monitor. X is directly outside.
TECHNO:
(Panicking)
Oh no! We’ve been spotted!
SIGMA:
Hee Hee Heeee! This is all too perfect…
TECHNO:
(bewildered)
What??
Sigma teleports away, just as X makes it through the Gate.
TECHNO:
(gasping)
NO! He left me behind…

What the!!?
DR. CAIN:
(growing irate)
Was that.. Sigmaaa??
ZERO:

Okay!! We can transfer you directly through the core of the Mother Computer now.
MIDDY:
WAIT!! Noo..
Zero and Dr. Cain look at Middy, confused and untrusting.
ZERO & DR. CAIN:
Hmmm?

X stares down Techno, with a livid glare that pierces through the eyes.
X:
TECHNO!!!!
TECHNO:
(nervous, muttering)
Darn it! I didn’t notice it soon enough… I need to make a move quickly…
X raises his Buster.
X:
No! I won’t allow you! I’ll crush the machine!
X charges up to his fullest and fires a blast directly through him and the Internal Monitor. Amidst the Blast everything fades to white.

Middy stands up and screams at the screen as he touches it.
MIDDY:
NO! It can’t end like this! It just can’t.. There has to be another way!!
ZERO:
(annoyed)
What are you on about?? I’ve had it up to HERE with your two-faced nonsense!
Middy ignores Zero and patches in a com-link from the console.
MIDDY:
(ashamed, mysterious)
…You know what, X? I have something to tell you…
X:
(filtered)
Huh?
X is seen on the vid-screen lowering his buster, confused. Techno is seen falling down to one knee - a hole torn through his stomach.
MIDDY:
(whispering, hurt)
… No… Not like this.
Middy suddenly warps directly into the Core from Dr. Cain’s Mother Computer.

Techno holds onto his throbbing head as he bleeds from the mouth.
TECHNO:
Waaaaa!
?????:
(o.s.)
Brother!
TECHNO:
(dying)
Oh… that voice sounds familiar…
Techno collapses to the ground as he feels his life force begin to fade. Just then, Middy teleports in just ahead of X.
X:
Middy!
He immediately kneels down to Techno.
MIDDY:
(Sobbing)
My brother, Techno!
TECHNO:
(sober)
What… am I doing here…?
MIDDY:
Techno! Oh, you’re waking up…
TECHNO:
I’ve been controlled by Sigma… Middy… it’s all over for me… In order to hack the Mother Computer, I had to connect my own CPU directly to it…
MIDDY:
(shaken)
Nooo! Don’t say that! Techno! Please hold on!
X looks down at them with a grimace as he narrows his eyes.
TECHNO:
(struggling)
Sigma is good at.. toying with people.. and controlling their hearts!! ..t..Took advantage of mine and.. made me work for himmmm.
