Dr. Cain watches the screen with trepidation.
MIDDY: What the heck was that…?
DR. CAIN: I’m not sure… /What’s this??
At the dash, Dr. Cain gasps.
Suddenly the Mother Computer blips with new data access points. As they look at the new data, Middy makes a stern face.
MIDDY: I understand.
DR. CAIN: Hmm?
MIDDY: ..This data… Its telling us that we’re finally nearing the center of the Core! What’s more.. we even have direct access to it somehow…
DR. CAIN: (gasping) X! Did you hear that? Finally, we can all enter the core!!
-cut to- ——————————————————————————————————— INT. MOTHER COMPUTER CORE - Internal Core Corridors - NIGHT ———————————————————————————————————
X runs on in a gateway with rejuvenated spirits.
X: All right! Looks like we’re gonna win this one after all!
DR. CAIN: (o.s., filtered) Good luck!
The gateway leads X to a vertical corridor, with walls shrouded in spikes. Platforms with Flamer Mechaniloids loom above him as his only access above. X takes a deep breath.
X: Okay…
X concentrates and carefully makes his way up 5 platforms as he takes out 3 flamers in the process. At the top platform, he is able to see a short ladder, just out of his reach, which leads to the top of the room.
Once X reaches the top of the room, he runs through a set of corridors where Partilasters await him by a short wall, which guards the entrance to the next gate. X narrows his eyes as he takes out the partilasters one by one. He climbs up a wall and takes out 2 more partilasters on his way down.
As the gateway draws near, a few Batton Bones fly in his path. X waves them away from his face, and shoots the next few that get in the way. As X makes it to the gateway, he takes a deep breath as he swiftly walks inside.
-cut to- ——————————————————————————————————— INT. MOTHER COMPUTER CORE - Internal Control Console - NIGHT ——————————————————————————————————— Techno panics as he looks at the monitor. X is directly outside.
TECHNO: (Panicking) Oh no! We’ve been spotted!
SIGMA: Hee Hee Heeee! This is all too perfect…
TECHNO: (bewildered) What??
Sigma teleports away, just as X makes it through the Gate.
TECHNO: (gasping) NO! He left me behind…

ZERO: What the!!?
DR. CAIN: (growing irate) Was that.. Sigmaaa??
ZERO: I’m going in…
DR. CAIN: Okay!! We can transfer you directly through the core of the Mother Computer now.
MIDDY: WAIT!! Noo..
Zero and Dr. Cain look at Middy, confused and untrusting.
ZERO & DR. CAIN: Hmmm?
-cut to- ——————————————————————————————————— INT. MOTHER COMPUTER CORE - Internal Control Console - NIGHT ——————————————————————————————————— X stares down Techno, with a livid glare that pierces through the eyes.
X: TECHNO!!!!
TECHNO: (nervous, muttering) Darn it! I didn’t notice it soon enough… I need to make a move quickly…
X raises his Buster.
X: No! I won’t allow you! I’ll crush the machine!
X charges up to his fullest and fires a blast directly through him and the Internal Monitor. Amidst the Blast everything fades to white.
-fade to-

Middy stands up and screams at the screen as he touches it.
MIDDY: NO! It can’t end like this! It just can’t.. There has to be another way!!
ZERO: (annoyed) What are you on about?? I’ve had it up to HERE with your two-faced nonsense!
Middy ignores Zero and patches in a com-link from the console.
MIDDY: (ashamed, mysterious) …You know what, X? I have something to tell you…
X: (filtered) Huh?
X is seen on the vid-screen lowering his buster, confused. Techno is seen falling down to one knee - a hole torn through his stomach.
MIDDY: (whispering, hurt) … No… Not like this.
Middy suddenly warps directly into the Core from Dr. Cain’s Mother Computer.
-cut to- ——————————————————————————————————— INT. MOTHER COMPUTER CORE - Internal Control Console - NIGHT ——————————————————————————————————— Techno holds onto his throbbing head as he bleeds from the mouth.
TECHNO: Waaaaa!
?????: (o.s.) Brother!
TECHNO: (dying) Oh… that voice sounds familiar…
Techno collapses to the ground as he feels his life force begin to fade. Just then, Middy teleports in just ahead of X.
X: Middy!
He immediately kneels down to Techno.
MIDDY: (Sobbing) My brother, Techno!
TECHNO: (sober) What… am I doing here…?
MIDDY: Techno! Oh, you’re waking up…
TECHNO: I’ve been controlled by Sigma… Middy… it’s all over for me… In order to hack the Mother Computer, I had to connect my own CPU directly to it…
MIDDY: (shaken) Nooo! Don’t say that! Techno! Please hold on!
X looks down at them with a grimace as he narrows his eyes.
TECHNO: (struggling) Sigma is good at.. toying with people.. and controlling their hearts!! ..t..Took advantage of mine and.. made me work for himmmm.
MIDDY: No! You are a genius! You don’t have a weak heart!
TECHNO: (dark) Huh, you think so? Middy…
His pure eyes begin to lose all focus as his pupils turn gray.
TECHNO: Y…you don’t understand…
Techno reaches out to his brother, until his body completely shuts down altogether.
MIDDY: (distressed, sobbing) Nooooo! Pleasssse… Techno! Don’t leave meeee! Huhuhuhuuuuuuuu Technoooooooo!
Middy cries moans of woe that feel all too familiar to X. X cannot help but shed tears of his own, as he watches Middy mourn the loss of his brother.
X: Middy… I’m so sorry…
X slowly walks over to him and kneels down by his side; tears welling up in his eyes.
Middy kneels to the ground as he grieves. X puts an arm around his shoulder.
MIDDY: Techno is my twin brother… We share the same CPU. So if he dies, I also die…
Middy begins to collapse.
X gasps in shock.
MIDDY: (suffering) X… Never give in to him! Be sure to defeat Sigma……!
Middy faints to his untimely demise, leaving X feeling numb, baffled and alone…
X: Middy… Why didn’t you tell me…?
Middy lays on the floor, silent.
X shakes his head, clenches a fist and stands up.
X: Just hold on! I’ll be back soon! Stay here!
ZERO: (o.s., filtered) He’s dead X…
Suddenly, Zero teleports directly into the room, in front of X.
X: (surprised) Zero!
ZERO: Sigma was behind everything…
DR. CAIN: (o.s., filtered) It would seem that Techno was forced to work with Sigma and hacked our computer from there.
Zero narrows his eyes, angered.
ZERO: And we all played into his hand like fools! He knew that none of our techs could crack a hack like that - so we had to seek out Middy for help!
X’s eyes widen.
X: This whole entire thing was planned from the start!
ZERO: Grrrrrrr! We’re going to destroy him this time. Completely!
X’s face hardens into a determined scowl.
X: OK Zero, let’s go!
X and Zero dash over to a gateway, together as they head out of the room.
