Finally got my new winter coat ordered. It's coming on Friday, so I'm pretty stoked for it to get here🖤

In a sort of middle finger to the poor souls who don’t appreciate a good winter storm in March, dear Mother Nature has pulled a fast one on the weather watchers. The storm that was supposed to hit with rain/sleet/ice/snow yesterday got everyone’s knickers in a twist with schools closing, people staying home from work, etc and then it never really did anything until fairly late in the afternoon.
Overnight we got some wet, heavy snow (maybe 4 inches in Minneapolis) and it is now still snowing. But school is in session and the roads are packed with people who hate this weather and are rage-commuting.
As the eternal weather optimist, I appreciate the beauty of the snow. It was breezy and snowy on my walk with the dogs last night and early this morning and that always lifts my spirits.
Having been born and raised in Minnesota and lived there most of my adult life, it's impossible to explain to people who have never lived there that the same state can have temps in the 110s (F) in the summer and -50s in the winter.
My birthday is in mid-January and my husband and I have the joke of "wonder if it's going to be above zero this year!"
It never was 99% of the time. Usually, it was at least -10F.
Now that we're in Central New York state, I think I might have a birthday NOT below zero for the first time in years.
Winter storm watch in Minnesota today, kids are probably chuffed to have school closed early.
I don't wish to alarm anyone, but I think we may be stuck 😂
Love the snow but it rained prior to snowing as the temperature dropped so there is now ice under the snow.
My bus was 30 minutes late.
But the light rail trains are running and at least I don’t have to drive in this mess.
Rain and 34 degF? We can’t get it together enough to drop the temperature a few degrees and get snow? C’mon!
Vibe.
