Rick Nolan actually claimed he’s a moderate. Yep, at a debate the well-documented liberal Rick Nolan has become so afraid of losing this election that he’s now trying to run away from his record:
“The fact is, I’m a moderate.” – Rick Nolan, 10/7/2014
Rick Nolan might be the only person who believes that. The truth is, Rick Nolan has been a radical liberal his entire time in office – from the 1970s and now. Let’s take a quick look:
In 1980, Nolan Said Since Arriving In Congress “I've Become More Liberal And Radicalized.” “Being here, I've become more liberal and radicalized . . . I just think that for people of my mind and philosophy during the next few years, we will be the loyal opposition.” (Ward Sinclair, “Getting Out,” The Washington Post, 12/22/80)
During His First Stint In Congress, Nolan Was “An Unapologetic Liberal.” “An unapologetic liberal who strongly opposed the Vietnam War, he served three terms and then, at the age of 37 in 1980, simply walked away.” (Stuart Rothenberg “30 Years Later, Nolan Considers Comeback Bid,” Roll Call, 6/7/11)
In 1973, Rick Nolan Described Himself as “Liberal.” NOLAN: “I’m a liberal and I believe that men (I don’t say that to distinguish from women) mankind is basically good and has a strong desire to work and be productive. They at least have the potential for goodness.” (John Waldron and Calvin Gower, “Rick Nolan Interview,” Minnesota Historical Center, 7/23/73)
In 2011, Roll Call Columnist Stuart Rothenberg Said Nolan “Doesn’t Seem To Have Changed His Liberal Bent Over The Years.” “‘There are times when people are willing to make big changes. We are at a tipping point with wars of choice, the financial future of our entitlements, the federal budget deficit and the decimation of our middle class. This is a time when big changes are needed,’ said Nolan, who doesn’t seem to have changed his liberal bent over the years.” (Stuart Rothenberg “30 Years Later, Nolan Considers Comeback Bid,” Roll Call, 6/7/11)
In 2012, A Star Tribune Reporter Described Nolan As “Still Passionate About The Progressive Values Of His Youth.” “Running for what would be a fourth term after a 32-year hiatus, Nolan is still passionate about the progressive values of his youth, and has fired up a new generation of DFL delegates who hope to help the endorsee beat out two primary election challengers: Former state Sen. Tarryl Clark and ex-Duluth City Council President Jeff Anderson.” (Kevin Diaz, “Nolan Emerges To Run For Congress After 32-Year Political Hiatus,” Star Tribune, 7/16/12)
In 2012, A Former Nolan Staffer Said He Didn’t Believe His Old Boss Would Shy Away From His Past Liberal Views. “Twin Cities marketing executive Todd Waters, who spent part of the 1970s on the road hopping freight trains, worked for Nolan in Congress and doesn't expect his old boss to shy away from the liberal views of his past. (Kevin Diaz, “Nolan Emerges To Run For Congress After 32-Year Political Hiatus,” Star Tribune, 7/16/12)

Rick Nolan has gone from describing himself as “liberal and radicalized” to “moderate” in a desperate attempt to cover up his extreme liberal record right before Election Day. Minnesotans know that Rick Nolan’s record for single-payer health care, EPA regulations, and gun bans is wildly left of their values.
