"Bubutasin ko ang mga ulap para magbigay daan sa liwanag, para malaman mong hinahanap pa rin kita..." ❤ One of my fave tracks off the MNL 143 Original Soundtrack. So much feels! I couldn't find this song anywhere online to share, so. I encourage you all to support this indie film as it continues to reach a wider audience, and purchase the original soundtrack when you get the chance!
Watch out for updates at their Twitter or Facebook Page. ***EDIT*** :
• MNL 143 will be showing in local theaters/SM Cinemas starting December 12, 2012!
• This track is now on Soundcloud!
MNL 143 Deserves Two Thumbs Up
August 15, 2012
Seriously, this film is brilliant. I find it both appealing in terms of narratives, discourse and aesthetic. I liked how they've presented an FX ride as a metaphysical representation of our life, and the people riding inside are the little twists of our everyday adventures.
I think Philippine cinema and mainstream media should stop being so artist-centric. Basically, if you want to plunge in for programs such as advertisements, the main criteria is the artists you would be using in the commercial. This is so freaking shit in a sense that what the heck is happening that we tend to just consume the celebrity status of artists rather than their appropriateness in the scenes they would be representing. Where's art? I also don't know.
But this film, neglected from Cinemalya because, according to some people, the body didn't like the casting is purely crazy. I mean, if you would be able to watch this film, it's great. It's funny, it's crazy and it's life. It shows the real love of people between the real life of people. There's no escapism here because who you see are the actual people you might be normally seeing in the streets, whom have their own worthy stories to tell.
Come on guys, judging a book by its cover is so passe but judging the book by its characters are gravely barbaric. Learn to look at the heart. I'll be posting the film review soon. Haha.
