At Morrissey’s on Lake,

the bartender never sees harm

in serving a pint of Guinness

(to share) and a carbomb

(each)  to a shitfaced pair

of sodbusters.

I drink; you listen,

ready with a shot,

a ride home,

a hankerchief

or a wallet

(to bite) if

we ever came

to that.
