When Life developed and spread wide enough, the Will of the Cosmos decided to come together and combine their stardust to make three Primordial Emanators and divide the galaxies among them so they could watch over Life more efficiently; to guide it towards 'Order'.
The three were made from the same stardust and yet yielded different outcomes. One was a mighty dragon with stars reflected in his scales and a gilded mane that flowed like the sea. He could grow as big as the galaxies themselves if left unrestrained and his curiosity too knew no limits. He would guard the Waves* and Bubbles* but his mind wandered elsewhere, wherever there were things to explore and interact with. This endless excitement for discovery and experimentation bothered the Will of the Cosmos and they soon placed a prophecy upon their child to keep him in line:
"Every 10 millennia you must shed your form and begin anew, reborn in your image but relinquishing your memory and thus your dangerous growing power."
He would come to be known as Oroborous, the primordial Dragon of Self-sacrifice.
The second that awoke was Fae, a humanoid Emanator that sprouted like a beautiful flower. Their hair was like silk that fell all the way to their feet and their skin was like a fertile dirtbed sown with shiny specks laid over highly-regenerative immortal flesh. Fae's excitement to meet Life was matched only by the Will of the Cosmos themselves, the love Fae felt for those yet to be born strummed the hearts of Rose's* subjects and all would come to greet the Mother of Life that could lift seeds from their slumber with a simple flick and build whole cities made of sturdy bark in seconds. Upon descending to the land of mortals, they embraced all forms of Life and even gave some worthy fungi shelter on their own holy skin.
Although the two were meant to divide the 4 galaxies between each other equally, after just a couple centuries Fae would crumble under the pressure of Life's cyclical demise. They would beg to have the Life consolidated in one Galaxy where they could protect them more closely, and the Will obliged. In fact, those cries were so heart-wrenching that the Observers allowed them to pick a planet's worth of Life and grant them immortality so that they would never have to know the suffering of death. The only stipulation given to them was:
"Take away their fertility and keep them away from mortal Life. In this way you may keep them in your Garden forever."
And so they did.
The final was Mo, a juvenile Observer. In terms of development stage it was but a fetus, and yet its body had potent force that could be used to enshroud an entire galaxy, transport planets and later conduct the Rebirth Ritual for Oroborous; with Fae's help of course. It was initially meant as a catalyst, a tool, but after some time it grew more sentient and learned to communicate. Although Observers looked down on such waste of cultivation, it would shed its stardust to form sentences in the air and materialise as a large Plesiosaur to drift along with its siblings for the fun of it. The Will of the Cosmos disliked such unbecoming actions but dismissed Mo as a childish marble that would never grow beyond it's current size. Mo did not mind, it enjoyed being but an Emanator's tool if it meant spending time with those it cared for.
