I sympathize with how Moash feels for most of this scene … but for some reason that line is like a red flag to me. It comes off as … I don’t know, manipulative? Like, don’t do that, man. “I’m part of The Club, an original member. You wouldn’t sell out one of The Club, would you??” He didn’t trust Kaladin with this whole thing, so when Kaladin found out he was taking advantage, Moash threw that up as a defense.
And sadly, it worked.
The “Betray Me? You’d DO that? 🥺” tactic, when he betrayed their cause first. It’s an ugly thing to do.
On the other hand, I approve of him saying he’d put it on pause if Kaladin hears him out, and that he’ll stop if Kaladin says to after that. (I know the general events of how things play out, but I don’t remember the finer details, so I’m not going to judge any more than what’s shown here, lest I misremember something.) Syl doesn’t like it, but I can’t blame Kaladin for wanting to hear the argument. And his reticence makes sense, as he has no idea if anything is going to come of the Amaram situation; the time he told Dalinar didn’t seem encouraging. His conscience is panging him because he feels he should tell, though. He has a very honorable nature, whether he likes it or not.
