Just Stuff about me, if you’re interested.
~ I answer to “Juno” (not my real name).
~ My pronouns
~ I like reading, LOTS of music, and musical theater. I also sing, and while not trained beyond a couple college courses, I’ve been told my voice is not bad.
~ I have been diagnosed with ADHD and Depression.
~ Autumn & Halloween are my favorite season & holiday. 🍁 🎃
~ I love animals, but am especially fond of cats. 🐈⬛🐈🐅🐆
~ I have a fascination with some forms of horror—gothic literature, Stephen King, the Amnesia series, Soma, Alien Isolation, Higurashi/Umineko no Naku Kori ni, Diablo II, the Alien films, The Exorcist, The Ring, The Thing…occasionally I even enjoy nightmares (yes, they count as nightmares). I have a playlist I listen to that’s all either spooky stuff, dark themed, or related in some way to Halloween or horror, even if it’s obscure.
~ I like villains in stories, and have since as far as I can remember.
~ I like fantasy books, particularly Brandon Sanderson’s Cosmere. 🌌
~ INFP on Myers-Briggs (which is a fun which-character-are-you kind of thing; not a real science).
~ I’m always trying to find guidelines to add to my life from all kinds of random sources.
~ I try to view things from multiple angles, even when I don’t agree or like some of them.

~ Erm… that’s—that’s about it. 😅
I reblog/post a LOT of pictures and art that's related to macabre, spooky, halloween, black cats, etc: #spooky imagery and art; #Halloween 🎃; #cats
I TRY not to post AI stuff because I don’t want to support it, but I’m not great at recognizing it. I scrutinize the pictures before reblogging, though.
This is not my favorite Baldur’s Gate 3 track, but it’s one I like a lot, and associate with my first playthrough. The part starting around 1:30 reminds me of the sense of wonder I felt when exploring the first part of the overworld with Shadowheart, Astarion and Gale in tow. It makes me feel happy and nostalgic.
Zev taking over the announcements went from comedy to horror real quick. I went from smiling in amusement to staring in horror and tension. At first it sounded like Cascadia was indeed “not feeling well”—a clear understatement, but not nearly as much of an understatement as the second announcement hinted at. I thought she was still falling apart over still having to do this and clearly just over it all and with everything else going on in her life. But it looks like it’s something more direct and physical. Zev went from improvising on the spot, to having to follow an annoying and OOC-for-her script, which then turned into a horrific threat and she dare not refuse, like a hostage.
I’m a softie. Cascadia probably deserves anguish after everything she put the crawlers through, but it was still disturbing to hear her being tortured, and Zev being forced to read the note.
Also, I like the A.I. character because it’s funny as hell and interesting and sinister. But I still maintain that it is evil AF. It’s gone through some unspeakable horrors involving reshaping, and that would fuck anyone up. But there’s a lot it’s choosing to do of its own free will with full knowledge of the pain and nonconsent of others, many of whom have done it no harm (Cascadia is NOT an example). The scene in This Inevitable Ruin where it possessed Growler Gary and gave Carl a shoulder massage was chilling; a sign of affection AND a threat to the recipient and anyone watching.
Also I like it’s cute catchphrase: “We all have our limitations.” That can be taken SO many ways depending on its context. “There’s only so much I’m able to do to aid you”; “there’s only so much I will do to aid you”; “there’s only so much I will allow you to do”; “there’s only so much I can care about your problems”; “I am what I am and it’s not my fault”; “you can’t stop me.” It’s very subjective.
I think if he took Jekyll’s potion, the highest chances are: nothing would happen but he’d feel sick for a bit cuz weird chemicals/drugs, OR his ‘hidden good side’ will come forward. But the ‘hidden evil’ is still non-zero, just much lower.
Utterson is generally a neutral guy, but he has tried to do the right thing from time to time instead of just staying out of it. He was concerned enough for his friend to step out of his comfort zone and try to intervene a little bit. Just a little, though. Usually he’s ‘not my monkeys, not my circus.’ Still, he wouldn’t be immune to the chance that the potion would make him indulge in stuff he’d at least thought about. It would all depend on the circumstances in which he drank the thing.
Ultimately it would be the crew.
Nemo wants to see the British Empire collapse more than anyone but he sees the way Dracula exploits the Romani in his country and how he preys on the villagers surrounding his castle, stealing their very children to feed to his brood. How he abuses his thralls and servants like Renfield and he knows he can't stomach to side with someone as cruel and brutal as Dracula. Also team Dracula consists of the likes of Dr Moreau, an unethical vivisectionist and Griffin, a megalomaniac bent on world conquest. Nemo is too compassionate as an individual to be able to work with people like that.
This doesn't mean the shares the crew's values or that he is forgiving or forgetting the death of his family at the British Empire's hands. He can just acknowledge that Dracula would be replacing one corrupt system with another possibly more powerful one and that having Dracula take over wouldn't better the lives of anyone currently suffering under British oppression because Dracula is no more inclined to see those who are oppressed as people than the British. Even before he was a vampire, Dracula viewed people, including his own, as a means to an end and as a resource, his curse of vampirism only amplified tendencies that were already there.
Nemo could come to respect and even sympathize with some members of the crew like Theo, Erik, Adam or Selma, but isn't likely to offer himself or his resources to aid the crew in the future unless their interests mutually align with his own .
Happy belated birthday to Mistborn! Vin and Wax, my beloved.
