Kara burrows her face into the dampened skin of Lena’s collarbone, a content sigh blowing outwards as Lena’s arms tighten around her and hold her close. Her legs still tremble, the space between them tender and throbbing, still sticky from Lena’s earlier attention. There’s nowhere else in the whole world that she’d rather be right now, but Kara is forced to accept that this evening can’t last forever.
Despite everything going on, she feels safe for the first time in several weeks… happy, but Kara isn’t naive enough to let herself think that this dingy motel room will protect them from Lillian Luthor.
She thinks about Sam and Andrea in the next room, and how their anxiety must only be heightened by having Cat with them. If Lillian were to ever find out that they’d faked her death, she’d surely leave a trail of bodies behind her on her quest to right that wrong.
“Do you think they hate us right now?”
“Why would they hate us?” Lena cranes her neck in order to stop a tender kiss to Kara’s forehead.
“Because we’re on the run from your psycho mother and we’re doing…. This.”
“Oh.” Lena laughs, “well, they maybe don’t love it, but I don’t care. You and I have waited a long time to be together and if I’m going to die by Lillian’s hand, then I at least got to spend my last night with you.”
