A NIGHT IN. DINNER FOR TWO.
it was one of those quiet nights at the manor. just leon humming a melody while moving around the kitchen to grab different ingredients and utensils. by a stroke of luck, everyone's plans aligned and it resulted in an empty house all for himself. well, mostly. there was one other wolfe staying in for the night, though he hadn't arrived yet. leon was a reserve, very private, who mostly kept to himself. his already small social circle became even smaller since he wasn't on speaking terms with his boyfriend. so he focused on his siblings, catching up on what was going on in their lives or just gossiping about people they know. leon thought of himself as the glue of the family, often playing the role of the peacemaker, trying to stop any bickering between his brothers. eyes glanced up at the clock on the wall, making sure he was on schedule. a rack of lamb sat on the counter, resting under tin foil, while leon finished the side dishes: a fresh mint sauce and rosemary mashed potatoes. the scent of lamb hung in the air, curled out of the kitchen and into every adjacent room, inviting. leon had just finished setting the table when his company arrived. “ hello, sweetheart, ” he said teasingly, immediately pouring a glass of red wine and handing it to his older brother. “ busy day today? ”
