“ —— katniss?” he nearly jumps back from surprise, eyes wide and full of a bright CONFUSION as he looks her over. a soft frown on his lips, he tilts head, the skin of his neck still warm tingling, feeling all too SENSITIVE as color rises to his cheeks. “w–what are you doing?”
"i'm going to ask you to not go yet."
i kinda maybe love you, i kinda maybe don’t: NOT ACCEPTING
@mocking-jxy.
“and what if you do, katniss?” his gaze is steady, shoulders squared, though there’s a soft break in his voice, teeth raking slowly over chapped lips. “what if you ask me to go? do you expect for me to rush right out, to OBEY you without question because i’m in love with you?” a muscle in his jaw twitches, though cyan eyes never leave her face, filled with frustration and all too obvious agony. “don’t you think i ever TIRE of this game?”
Prince of the Capitol [RP w/ mocking-jxy & double-knotted-shoelace]
@mocking-jxy
Now that the main Victory ceremonies were over and the Victory Tour was months away, the parties around the Capitol had dried up quite a bit. However, there was always time for political pandering and get-togethers, just like this one.
Of course, they were boring as always. Peeta knew that going into the night, but that didn’t matter. He got to walk in with Katniss. After agreeing to stay in the Capitol for a while longer in one of the guest houses, Peeta had taken advantage of it, getting to know Katniss and be with her as often as he could, without seeming too annoying. Of course, his own training and learning the political world got in the way sometimes, but tonight, he could do both at the same time.
If only the party was more entertaining. Peeta stood off to the side, drinking his drink, and glancing towards Katniss. “Sorry I made you come to this. Not my best idea, I suppose. It’s pretty boring here,” he muttered to her. All he could do was watch in disgust as a large man named Bacchus came back for his fourth go at the table of food. “How about we go out to the garden. There’s a violin out there and we could have a dance.”
“ i’m gonna ignore you now. ”
“Well my dear that won’t be the first time or even the last that you do something like that, just make sure to be ready on time tomorrow morning. President Coin can be a bit more demanding.”
It had been only a week since Peeta had returned home from 13. He didn’t want to come back but he was forced to by his doctors. They kept saying he was fine when he knew it was all a lie, he could feel the corruption in his head and the thought of losing himself alone was the thing that scared him the most.
The only time he had seen Katniss was the first day he arrived when he was planting the primrose. After that he locked himself into his house and didn’t come back out. He had fixed his home up to look relatively neat and then he was left to his thoughts. To think of the games, the quarter quell, the war, the loss for his family and friends, the mental pain of losing himself to false memories.
This day was rough, he had woken up to a breath taking panic attack that took him an hour to calm down from. He couldn’t eat, nothing sounded good and he didn’t want to throw up if a fit of panic kicked in. He managed to shower but while in the shower he emotionally broke down about his family. He was alone for good, Katniss hated him, Haymitch hadn’t seen him. He was officially alone.
It had been four hours since he had showered and he glanced out his back window. He could see the wind blowing and the sky begin to grey, the signs of a storm. He shook his head and let his mind wander which turned out to be a terrible idea. His mind went to Katniss, and the corrupted memories began flowing in. Lie after lie after lie mixed with the truth it was all to overwhelming to him and he felt himself begin to break.
He sat on the couch and buried his face in his hands before he fully snapped. When he finally lost control he instantly began to pull at his hair and scream from frustration. From that moment he blacked out mentally but physically he was on a rampage. It was almost the same as a small child throwing a fit, kicking things over, screaming, crying, hitting things. Peeta had completely checked out and when he finally came to terms with himself he was in his spare bedroom on the floor with bloodied hands.
He instantly buried his head against his knees and began sobbing, he had no idea what happened but it wasn’t him. He was shaken up from the entirety of the day and now the fact he had completely lost control and couldn’t remember what he did. He sat there, in the corner of his spare room, with his knees to his chest, and his face buried in his knees, with his hands gripping at his hair.
